I worked on this film as a PA. When they crossed the river the crane operator dipped the 250k camera in the water. It was then I asked Paul if he needed anything, Tea, A great, honest guy. He waited on the bank in the 110 deg heat while the crew dissembled, cleaned and dried the the camera, he had a air conditioned trailer but would rather watch the Colorado river flow by. Did not meet Cuba.

I worked on this movie as well. I was with the set construction crew and SFX in Canon City. I was in that buring building while filming!

Cool beans. I loved the movie

I love Paul hogans movies this is one of my all time favorites

It was a surprisingly well written movie, I watched it years ago and just watched it again today, and it still holds up as a good film. It was never going to win any awards but it's good harmless fun and if I watch it again in another ten years time I'm sure it'll still hold up.

I read that comment a lot about good, but not particularly extraordinary performances, which is usually (but not always) a requisite for such an award. His, imo, is the former.

Criminally underrated and overlooked movie!

This movie has one of the funniest scenes ever filmed, IMO. When the mute Ben Doyle shoots himself in the foot and starts hopping around in pain, but can't scream is pure slapstick hilarious fun. I literally choked, and spewed Coca-Cola out of my nose!!! Soon, the whole household was howling in laughter 🤣! Needless to say, but I will anyway, this entire movie was a gas.

I should have heeded your warning. That happened just as I took a drink of chocolate milk. That truly was one of the funniest scenes I've ever seen, but then when he shot that man in the backside and in a panic ...... don't want to spoil it. That was a close second

Love this film. Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding jr, were brilliant in this film.

Very cool video

I was a teenager when this movie came out. It was a sort of western revival era. Maverick, Tombstone, Wyatt Earp, Unforgiven were all part of that revival. Tombstone was definitely the coup de grace but Maverick and Lightning Jack hold a very special place in my heart. It was a great time for me and these movies are an important part of those memories. Paul Hogan is awesome!

Oh man I used to love this movie when I was a kid! I completely forgot about it. Still stands up to this day. Nice and fun.

This is a classic from my childhood. It may be a silly movie, but I think it's hands down one of Cuba's best performances ever.

Oh, how good to see and laugh with Mr Crocodile Dundee again! And the mute boy is so good too! An actually funny film. Thanks for the laugh. The cattle auctioner's chant is so artistically done, a joy for sore modern ears.

One of the best comedy I've ever watched!

I met paul hogan while fimling this movie near my home town in colorado. I with there was an upscaled version of this. seeing this movie filmed is one of my core memories, not having a proper HD version is sad.

I am so happy to finally find this to watch! I loved this as an 80's kid I was about 13 when this movie came out. Been looking for this for years to watch!

This film is a great nod to vaudeville comedy, to be able to make people laugh without saying a word is a skill today's comedy's lack . Also what a great pairing these two worked well together

i've watched hundreds of cowboy films but this is the one that really caught my fancy. Perfect plot with lightning Jack and his sidekick makes you wanna watch it more.

This is such a good film that should have had a wider release. I had it on VHS back in the day. A favourite as a kid. Tried finding a new region 2 or region free blu-ray But seems some producers are being difficult or that this gem has passed by alot of distributors. Anyways now I can finally re-watch it after all these years! It’s still funny as hell.

Never get tired of westerns when they show the country, in this case the slanting layers of sedimentary rock in the hills in the background fascinate me. At 14:40, the hills are in the background, they were formed millennia ago when the ocean covered the land. Old history mixing with the new. God works wonders.

This was great fun! I had not planned on liking this so much. A well done .. ambling, but perfectly paced romp. Hogan .. as always, was Hogan. And of course, Beverly D'Angelo always hits the mark. Gooding was only about 26/27 here, but for no lines.. carried his part to perfection!

I think Cuba did great.

I remember watching this as a kid with my grandma. This is my favoriteof all his movies.

Paul Hogan, from a Sydney Harbour bridge worker to having his own comedy show to this movie, not bad 😄

Sure thing, it more than worked. I love Paul Hogan and Cuba Gooding. What a team. I'm going to look for more of Paul Hogan’s movies and any movies I can find with Cuba Gooding. My wife is 70 and I'm 75. Because of the Son of God, Jesus, we have an Eternity to spend with our believing friends when our bodies die, sending our Souls to the Triune God.😎

This was my first time watching the film. I remember this coming out around 93 94, sometime in the mid late '90s, but never actually saw it when it first came out. I actually enjoyed it. Good film.

Yea I agrees crocodile dundee is lighting jack this was always a fav growing up this was a great Western but it's also a comedy so I always love the funny parts I like how he does the slinging gun too and the gun fights

I watched the "Paul Hogan Show" on BBC when cable first came out in the mid 70's. Love Mr Hogan ever since.

This was 2 years BEFORE Jerry Maguire. It showed his impressive acting ability.

It's is well filmed and if you like Hogan it's a winner.

Love the opening with the sign for Junction City, I grew up in a Junction City and currently live there.

I laughed so hard - can you imagine the outtakes of this? Cuba Gooding Jr did a fine job as a mute. I love Paul Hogan's humor and the faces he makes. Another 'fastest gun around with blond hair' was Terence Hill in the Trinity series of movies. An Italian movie star who partnered with Bud Spencer and they were hilarious. Terence Hill also did 2 American movies. One was Mr. Billion, and I think the other was maybe called Supercop?

@@hellos3487 I recall seeing that once a very long time ago. No Henry Fonda in that one. Still funny as hell. His slaps are awesome and what got me interested in the movie was a commercial of the scene where he’s slapping the bald dude around in the bar.

I thought it was him.... and the guy besides him is Gus Mercurio. And there are plenty of other old western actors scattered thru the film. Unfortunately it didn't come up to the calibre of Crocodile Dundee.

Ahh, Hella cool movie! Love the actor's and the premise, could have been a bit longer with a few more scenes. All in all..Excellent! I do love westerns, especially funny ones. This was cute. Thanks, NZ. 🤗
