  @@user-eh6nx1by4b True. He was waking up. In a disaster some people will risk their lives to save others, even strangers that they do not know. Some people will even die to save a stranger. Others will only save themselves without looking back. Some people grow up in that environment and they learn to be cruel and to hate for no reason, others have great empathy. Growing up in that environment and seeing the system fail over and over some lose hope and do not believe that it is possible for hope and change.

  Could explore deeper: why the dad's aversion to God and the church? Little to nothing is known of his background. Was home so bad that he'd rather be working than there with them? Daughter never confessed any of her sins, just pointing the finger @ him: get Jesus' word on that: Matthew 7:1-5
