One of the best times I have ever had in a cinema. M:I-7 is a beast of a film that offers up mounds of suspense, humor and thrills. Definitely a well crafted movie with action pieces that are off the charts.

Excellent segment! Never a dull moment with Cruise.

Well the film is already oversubscribed before it shows. Big Tom Cruise and Mission impossible fan. If you watch The Patrick Swayze’s most recent documentary you will see how Tom’s acting was influenced because Patrick did all his own stunts in like in jumping out the plane in “Point Break”. Patrick and Tom worked together a lot when they were young, Tom bring much younger and impressionable. It’s great how Tom ran with that and took it to another level as we see in Mission Impossible. 😊❤

It works very well due to the commitment of the team and especially Tom Cruise, who plans and lives each scene. I really appreciate every step. Congratulations

That's a great interview with the best cast ever. Mission: Impossible - Dead Reckoning is by far the best movie of the summer unlike the over-hyped films that are not worth your money.

His name is never behind the director credits but he should be recognized as one of the great filmmakers for this series.

Just amazing to see where this podcast has come since it was just a few of us die hard mission fans back in 2018. So proud of you guys !

I wish this interview was at least an hour long, lol. Bc I would watch the whole thing. Also, I know this is going too far but it would be great to do a podcast with Paul Thomas Anderson. The guy always seems to show his appreciation for action films (including this franchise) and I know he might have a lot to discuss. Just a suggestion.

Hayley Atwell was great in this film but I do wish Ilsa wasn't sidelined then killed.

I was sad when isla died but I knew someone close was going die. It's dead reckoning it was time to raise the stakes since fallout. So this mission is more personal and darker and I love every minute of it..and Rebecca has kids now so Im not surprised she read to go .bring new characters in love grace but pom was so damn sexy in this movie. 😋 She was hot

Sucked badly. Worst in the saga.

This is fantastic! But I'd love to see more discussion of crucial moments in the story line, as well, such as the moments at the party that happened between all the main characters at the sectional couch...Or discussion bringing in the screenwriters and IT scientists to talk about the idea of the "Entity" and its relationship to the AI we now have. The motorcycle jump scene is absolutely thrilling, and I love hearing about the making of it! But there was a lot more about the film that was also interesting and even frightening as we consider its direct relevance to possibilities existing today for the world. I feel this was a very important film from this standpoint, and that we could be using this movie as a basis for a society-wide discussion about how it might be possible (if at all!) to prevent bad actors on the world scene from getting their hands on AI and turning it into an enemy on this level. The thrill and enjoyment of the jump is being amped up in media to the exclusion of the direct relevance to the entire world of the ideas being explored about AI and its implications!

Agreed. I certainly enjoyed DR1, but it really felt hamstrung in a lot of ways. Fallout is a much more rounded and satisfying movie.

The movie, featurettes, and discussion sell that Tom rode the bike off (albeit a ramp), fell, then deployed parachute, in one action. But clips here show a tether on Tom and the bike (04:06) and then the parachute jump from a helicopter (04:49). Suggesting they did it in two parts. Still awesome. But would be more interesting to show fans how they really achieved the effect, rather than all this obfuscation of "we did it for real"?

They did do it for real. The tether and the jump out of the helicopter were part of training he did prior to performing the actual stunt. But yes, he rode the bike off a cliff, fell, and deployed the parachute, which was the only piece of safety gear he had at that point, really.
