You guys who are nayers are clueless. She is putting meaning to the song. She does not copy style. The newer songs do not have real value and it shows now because she enunciates. Notice her rendition of the classics that are made by superb composers. Proper vocal technique? Hahaha

No one's version is better than the other because all of them (including Sandi Patty's) are great in their own way. It's just a matter of preference because their singing style differs from one another. Gerphil approached this in an almost operatic way (because that's what classical-crossover is about), while Regine sang it in a contemporary style. Now, in my honest opinion, I really prefer Gerphil's version because: 1. I love her classical-crossover rendering. 2. The way she hits those notes is impeccable and almost effortless. 3. I feel the message of the song because of her body language and facial expressions which greatly affect the performance. But given all these reasons, I will not say that it is better than anyone else, because, again, it's just a matter of preference. Have a good day!

Sorry nothing against gerphil but this is one ham Light in million morning . she's young but her sustains are like of Florence Jenkins and not just this song but others as well and dont get me started with The phrasing its really very bad, ... its not just about the high notes that make you a good singer. reaching them is not enough to produce a beautiful song.

She chops the passages into short pieces and in inappropriate places, and that makes her singing rather irritating to listen to. If the score does not indicate a break or a breath, the passage should be sung continuously in one breath, and without breaks. She probably has no formal training when it comes to proper vocal technique.
