I am an American but I will say this all honesty: The Philippines has the best singers in the world. Their singers voices are colored perfectly rich. I was invited to attend a state funeral at the Manila Cathedral and hear Lea Salonga sing the most beautiful song I have ever heard... Bayan Ko.I was just stunned.... mesmerized ...! I flew back to the USA and leaned that song in the Tagalog language in which I feel it must be sung to do it justice. Thank you Philippines for your contribution to the best music I feel anywhere.

She is a Diva, without even trying. And the song is very near to my heart..I personally felt His light of a million mornings, when I accepted Jesus as my Lord & Savior. Ms. Lani Misalucha is a personal favorite.

Amen. I was in a musical in 1986 called “Everlasting Light” and it contained this song. I was blown away by it. I remember sing the solo in “People Need the Lord” in the same program. It was powerful.

Kuh Ledesma once said that facial expression is a must while hitting highest keys, to make sure the singers still look pleasing to audience in conveying the message of the song. Lani does this with excellence and careful controls. May God continue to heal Lani to be able for her to share her music to many.

These diva, the likes of her and Regine are incomparable to the new ones today.

Lani Misalucha sang so elegantly beautiful...her outstanding performance was even made better by the sound technician with that echo on the highest notes. Beautiful orchestra as well.

A dramatic performance which is truly interpreted correctly (in my own opinion). In a very calm just like talking to God and listening to your prayers and hym. Very clear voice. The vocal control, the vocal placement and techniques she used makes her a brilliant world class diva! Truly Asia's Nightangle and Phillipines Pride and National Treasure! Bravo!

Just as you open your ears towards her, the angels suddenly bring a new dawn of hope. Amazing rendition of the song.

Like an angel. 👏 This was my favorite number from that night. Sooo divine and such a strongly evocative rendition with the MPO. They brought my soul to heaven that night. A great performance as already shown by this recording, but this, _live,_ was even ten times better.

A glorious performance! It's like the orchestra of heaven went down to Earth to play for an angel assumed to heaven and everyone rejoiced! Bravissima!!!

This was beyond amazing listening live. The voice and the Orchestra! Oh my gosh! I was at edge of my seat during this performnace, hands on my chest! Goosebumps! Please upload also the Nella Fantasia Performance.

I've almost watch this clip for almost 10 times and everytime I lead an ear in this version I feel the calmness and refreshment inside me. Anyways... Nasa 20+ years na sa industriya si Lani madami paring bitter na kampon ng idolo nila, Yung iba umaacting na parang good critic... Poro naman comparison, over critic at Yung ina nagfefeeling feelinan lang para may masabi lang masama, Yung iba ginagamit Yung the way of singing... Nagrereklamo eh pinartapos naman Yung video mga bugok, pag hindi nagustuhan Yung kanta umalis agad hindi magiwan pa nung comment nagmukha kalang bitter at judgemetal bwesit ka. Pag ayaw sa artista o sa version alis agad... Sakit pa naman ng pinoy, masiyadong judgemental tapos kapag pinatulan umiiba Yung pinuountahan. Sigoro para ma maintain Yung peace sa Philippine musical industry ipapatukhang nalang yang mga bupol na bugok na mga jugmental na mga fantards at mga diehard fans.

All hail the nightingale! I noticed nung The ACES , na sa mga bata ngayon, si Jona lang ang nagppreserve ng boses na classical like Lani. She has the option to switch to her head voice or chest voice. Silang dalawa lang so far. May mga iba pero unknown. Lani and Jona's classical techniques are hard to understand para sa karamihan ng mga bata.

I thought Sandi Patti (the original singer) was the last best who ever sang this song until regine made her own awesome version and now the nightingale made her own bel canto, and WALAH! my head aches in awed...

This was an amazing vocal by Lani with an incredible accompaniment by the MPO. It was haunting. Had goosebumps the whole time!

Di pa rin ako makaget-over dito. 😭 Pansin ko rin, Ms. Lani looks so good and "photographable" any time she sings - by that, I mean you can take a photo of her at any point, even when she's hitting high notes. 'Di kumukulubot mukha niya, pumapangit ang posture, o nagmumukhang nahihirapan. So graceful ba. :)

Pero alam mo bang in person sobrang down to earth at bakla niya? Nakakatuwa siya. I went to her concert at Solaire with martin at pumila ako para makapagpaphotograph at dedication sa album which I bought. I waved at her and she smiled back at me at nakipag kwentuhan pa na parang wala lang. Then nagpapicturan kami and take note....siya pa kumuha ng cam ko at nag selfie kami cheek to cheek. Shit kinkilig pa rin ako until now hahhaa.

She uses headtone singing this version. Regine used her chest voice all throughout the song. Lani uses also falsetto thing that Regine rarely does. So I never doubted Regine's version. A true Reginian is proud to admit that Regine is not perfect. But to doubt Regine's version of this song is definitely "not a true Regine fan". Regine's version is untouchable,, no doubt whatsoever, period!

I have to disagree with you, a true reginian fan is never bias. All my life i've been a regine fan, both of them sang it soooo good. You cannot compare a chest voice to a totally different voice. Lani's version of this song is actually higher than regines version, but because they have different voices i can't really compare them. It's a tie for me.
