Whatever you do never walk under a load being lifted. That metal doesn't care that you're under it or your fingers are under one end. Stay safe. Love the build. It's an amazing home you've built and are building.

I wish you both had hard hats even for hammers or other tools you may accidentally drop let alone this task. Other then that safety issue, well done. Great accomplishment getting those beams up where they need to be. Right. Erin is “just” a stay at home Mom. Other commenters have noted all the hats Erin wears. Josh is an electrician, jack of all trades construction worker, contractor, builder, candle maker, and barista. Enjoy your holiday and family time off.

I have said a dozen times that Erin is one in a million. There are very few women that will wrestle steel beams, nurther children, home school children, and raise farm animals for fun and food. Josh you need to get that loader on your tractor fixed and get a hay spear and a grapple for it. They are the most valuable tools on my farm. Also, establish a set of hand signals between you and your ground “man” and stick to them. Teach them to the boys too.

When you lift steel beams, leave the control end. (the one the helper is controlling with a tag line) light. That way she can always pull down to control the opposite end and let up on the line to position the end closest to the equipment. It really helps and is much safer. You guys are doing great work. When in doubt ...stop and reassess.

Hi wonderful family,I enjoy now for years your yourny.Its amazing what you have achieved with skills and hard work.But today I was worried,placing the steel beams that was so dangerous.The way you fixed the choker( only 1why not 2) steel on steel.no1I missed some pieces of soft wood between the choker and the beam and the fork of the lift.no2 put as extra C clamps left and right of the choker.The way you guys did this today was so dangerous for Erin.The steelbeam could(slide) fall out so easyly.Greetings from the Netherlands and enjoy the last days of 2023.(sorry for my bad englisch)
