    I had a 2008 STI and I wanted to lift it but 15yrs ago nothing existed for it. The tuner shop that did the tune in my car offered to build me a rally suspension but at 28 I didn’t have the money to do it. Very cool that now there’s several options to make your own rally car! Looks great!

    The aftermarket has grown so much in the last decade and a half to be sure. I'm very glad there are a few parts out there for a rally or off-road build now. I appreciate it! Still blazing a trail with an off-road build like this (pun intended 😅).

    This is criminally underviewed. There are VERY FEW lifted WRX STI's out there. Even fewer actually willing to take on rugged terrain. Your videos one of the few that had me instantly subscribe simply because the content you're producing and build you're working on is so rare. And you're documenting the unique challenges for such an uncommon build route is going to be immensely helpful for others thinking of going the same route. I used to dream of getting a WRX STI and lifting it. But as I grew older, priorities changed and I figured out the Outback wagon matches my goals more than a WRX STI. So seeing this is like witnessing that concept I gave up on coming to life. I subscribed to your YT channel and gave your IG a follow, I need to see more.

    I appreciate the support! The capabilities of this build far exceeded my expectations in every way. Through this build process, I have had to solve for so many unforseen obstacles that there is no reference material for online, but that's part of the enjoyment. I'm glad my vision resonates with others and that they enjoy watching as much as I enjoy building and driving.

    Damn that thing is sky high! I will be lifting my 2011 sti sedan one inch with a set of cygnus performance long travel coilovers. They allow me to go one inch above stock ride height to 1 inch below stock ride height. I dont think I will bother going to the low end because it will still handle better than factory at one inch above. I need the clearance for winter and forest roads. Will also be running high Castor camber plates up front and adjustable rear LCAs in the rear. 8k swift springs. I cant wait until they are finished being built!

    I just added these to my '20 F54 Mini (Clubman). Unfortunately the install seems to have gone wrong as the front produces a nasty, metal-a-metal clang when any abrupt bump is hit--not necessarily a deep one, but something like a typical pothole or storm drain (again, not especially deep ones). But I love driving up to parking blocks with confidence, and can't wait to try out the All4 in snow ... especially with the added 2" diameter on the tires that now fit comfortably underneath. Re: Airplane ref at 10:00, Roger, Roger.

    While I'm not familiar with Mini suspension, I was experiencing a jarring bang when going over abrupt bumps after initial install. Turned out to be the front springs bottoming out before full shock travel (spring rate was too soft). The remedy was taller stiffer front springs. If you have an action camera, you may be able to rig it up in the wheel well behind the tire to help diagnose the root cause. Larger tires for the win! You're the first to comment on the Airplane reference 😄. Couldn't help myself.

    I have been wondering if your able to run the GR light coilovers with 2" spacers or if the coilovers themselves are supposed to give you 2" lift when wanting to lift your Subaru. That set up looks killer 👌

    Yes, these coilovers are capable of more than 2" of lift themselves. Glad this video cleared up the question for you! Much appreciated 🤙🏾

    hey budd, have you looked into a subframe drop all around to keep the cv's happy yet im currently in process for my 2011 sti that im aiming for 6' of suspension lift before tires to fit 30s but im loving your progress, also i considered flatout but went with raceworks. let me know how you like them.

    Hey man, I have. I'm running an ADF 2" rear subframe drop kit currently. I'm going to have to have a 1" front subframe drop kit made, and possibly a 3" rear kit made eventually. That sounds like a sick build! Are you documenting it on IG by chance? If so, follow me and I'll follow back. I'd like to keep tabs on the progress. I'm loving these GR Lite coilivers so far. I've been able to cruise mountain trails at 30-40mph very comfortably and stiffen up dampening a bit in the front for good on-road control since I've removed my front sway bar. 👌🏾

    Hey man! Question for ya. I got a 12 wrx on forester suspension, and my wheels are positive camber like crazy lol. Did u do a subframe spacer kit or get different lower control arms? Im glad it aint just me doing this lmao. Subbing for sure!

  • @natewilliams854

    @natewilliams854

    11 ай бұрын

    Hey! To combat positive camber, I'm just running the Flatout coilovers with camber plates upfront. Rear, I have subframe spacers + adjustable lower control arms. Try the most aggressive camber bolts you can get up front. If that doesn't cut it, try adjustable lower control arms. You're not alone lol 🤙🏾

    Have you had any issues with cv axle angle since adjusting?? I just ordered my gr lites, might just roll with those for a vit first before doing the top hat spacers too. But wanted to see how its holding up after time

    I blew a front CV boot, but that was a few thousand miles ago. Other than that, no issues at all. (Note, don't get GSP axles as replacements if you blow a boot. They appreciate the angle less than OEM CVs 😅)

    Hey Nate question if I buy coilovers how difficult is it to set them to 2 inches and would it be safe to run a 2 inch ADF lift on top of them it'd be going on a 2014 2.5i SJ forester

  • @natewilliams854

    @natewilliams854

    Жыл бұрын

    Hey, I wouldn't say it's very difficult to set ride hight +2 inches, it does take a lot of patience and measuring. Just go into it knowing you're going to have to lift/jack up, remove wheels, measure, adjust, measure, reinstall wheels, set it down, measure, and repeat a few times. I've been running ADF spacers on the coilovers for over a year with no issues. I believe Flatout Suspension offers more coilover options for Foresters. I'd recommend taking a look at their website and see what product will fit your needs. If all else fails, give them a shout, they'll be able to provide some additional guidance.
