Lifetime Tamarack 100 low buck rudder install!
Here I installed a low buck rudder kit purchased through wallmart. As you know, our Tamarack are not designed for a rudder. All the more reason to make it work. Might give some ideas on how you may want to do it.

@@Amberdogproductions Trying to jerry rig a fixed rudder (in effect a skeg) on my kayak so combing YT for ideas. Yours is one of the better ones.👍
Great info . I built a fixed rudder for mine , nylon cutting board material. Retractable. Without it kayak kind of slipped n wiggles a bit . Fun entry level boat .

Some nice crafting there. Suggestion: run the lines for the rudder up to the footrests and just add toe loops to steer with.

It helps track straight. And holds straight better in a cross wind.
Do you have a link to the rudder you bought? Also how does it work?

I dont off hand. I found it by going to wallmart.com and just typed in kayak rudder. Several showed up, same one just several prices. Picked the least priced and ordered it.
