To all the parents, families that have children that have certain challenges, you are not alone. There are times you feel too overwhelmed, but also there are times of laughter. Remember to also not lose yourself and you so need to live and to take care of your self physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

What I have come to accept over the last three years: 1. My daughter, Elena, will always be happy because she is surrounded by people that love her. 2. Elena will not share the same worries, the same fear that neurotypical people do. 3. All Elena wants to do is enjoy each and every day. Angelmans is a very difficult diagnosis. But one thing is for sure, Angels are so special. There are no children on this earth that smile like they do. The way my daughter touches my face as I lay next to her at night is what I live for.

You made this comment three years ago, about the same time we received our diagnosis. I’d love to know how you are doing?

Is this the same woman from the Gala? I heard she left the foundation. We attended the Chicago gala the last year before Covid and now it seems that it is over. What a shame. It really helped us.

How can they always be right "Next week is always better"? There are weeks that are worse, much worse than previous week.

I think what they mean is that mentally they are at a much better place to cope, its easy to give into despair, much harder to be strong and keep hope alive because thats the only way to move forward..!

Speech and language has been the best genetics are looking into angelmans syndrome hence why I'm looking at this today. All the fears they had as parents I had but my child is signing and speaking I felt their pain and lived it too I'm on my own and it's tough, but it does get easier with therapies x

Yes I am alone. Nobody cares about my daughter or me enough to help. Watch her for an hour even...can't even pay anyone. No things don't get better they get worse. One medical thing gets taken care two more pop up. Im losing my mind!
