when I tell ppl "I will pray for you" I always pray for all involved to have peace and accept whatever is going on ... never for a favor of miraculous justice or recovery.

Being a spiritual person has really helped me cope with how unfair life has been to me. Having to bring my young daughter up alone after the love of my life died in a freak accident. But I've coped , I look for the little things in life that bring me joy ..okay this wasn't easy the first few years I was angry depressed and broken but time does heal, it never fixes the grief 💔 but it helps. I know I will be reunited with the love of my life when it's my time to go.. I have work to be done here right now. Whereas my friend also lost her husband 2 years prior to my loss , she is atheist and has a negative outlook on life , she has struggled a lot and still feels life is unfair whereas I look for the positives. Gratitude is so important, I really enjoyed your last live stream on enjoying the little things xx

I just found this video…& wow. Almost 3 yrs ago, my husband & I (we were 62 & 57, married for 38 yrs, raised 4 kids)…were empty nesters, just trying to get through the pandemic & plan for retirement. One night, he fell out of bed (ok, it was date night & we were fooling around 🙄), & in the blink of an eye, he became a quadriplegic. It has been such a life-altering tragedy, that I cannot write everything here bc it would be a book. All I can say is that our lives have been a million times harder than it was before his injury & we have though SO much emotionally -depression, anger, bitterness, sadness-all negative really. It wasnt supposed to be like this!! I see old couples walking together or traveling & I hate it! 😩 that shouldve been us! But no, I am his caretaker, I shower him, dress him, bowel program, etc-I am 60 now, how long will my body be able to do this? But I get up every day & do it. There is no where else for me to go. Ppl tell me “for better or for worse” but I can tell you that I had never thought I would be pulling poo out of my husband’s butt daily someday, when I was an 18 yr old bride😢. The anger & bitterness really gets to me. I WAS religious previously, but our church gave no support. I AM very grateful for our adult kids, theyre the only ones who help is. Life is not only unfair, but it can be pretty cruel as well.

Thanks for sharing this Kelly. So sorry about what happened to your husband. Yes, things do change so quickly and it doesn't seem fair. Glad your kids are there for you right now. Take care!

What a freak accident! Is there any way you could hire a caretaker to share some of the work with you? Were there any Long Term Care policies in place? Some policies will cover in home care. You need breaks and time to be his wife/friend instead of a caretaker. Maybe there are some agencies you can reach out to for help?

As to church, you can't go for the people because people will disappoint. We are just human. Go to church to worship and ask God for the grace you need to get through each day. I'm a caretaker too and life is unfair. I'm Catholic so I say a morning offering prayer daily, to offer my work and suffering to God, to unite my suffering to Christ. Suffering is not wasted when given to Jesus. Your suffering can help save souls when united to Christ. This prayer helps me get through the day. Sometimes I say it several times a day. He sees your suffering. You are not alone.

There are a lot of platitudes. What are we supposed to be so grateful about all the time? To be living? Why? What's so great about it? That it could be worse? So we're supposed to go through all this crap, and be grateful it's not crappier? I'm not exactly buying this, as if I had much choice.

Thank you for sharing all of this with us.I have my whole life wondered why I didn't have the opportunity to be born into a normal family. My father hated my mother, She was mentally ill. There was much turmoil and fighting all the time.Beacuse of this I left home at 14.My parents are both gone now.I have two brothers who don't speak to me after all these years .I think it stems from me leaving and lots of other reasons for sure.We do live in an unfair world .I've learned a very valuable lesson in my life though. I can rewrite my own story,My story doesn't have to be their story.God bless you Allison .You are a wise lady with a very big heart and sweet spirit. Hugs.

This is a great message - taking action on something, even a small thing, is really empowering. In one of your other videos I think you talked about having a purpose, and that is very helpful also even if it's just taking care of a houseplant or something small if that is all a person has the energy for.

Thank You this! I need to Pray for Understanding, It has been 8 months since my only daughter and only child for 16 years ( I have a 3 year old son now) my daughter Cayden was killed tragically by hit and run by a teen driver whom had stolen the car that hit her and her roomate in a crosswalk on college campus my daughter unfortunately didn’t survive her injuries 😢. But her roommate did I have been asking Why, we are believers in Jesus and offered her up as a baby to him at her baby blessing , prayed all the prayers of protection, the blood 🩸 of Jesus and angels to be around her! I question 🙋🏾‍♀️ why would he allow this to happen to her?My faith is being testing I’m not sure what to believe now since this has turned my life upside down. So disappointed 😢 all this we prepared for and to send her to college and 6 weeks later she is gone!

Please continue to pray for understanding as well as for the strength to deal with this. Don't lose faith as there is so much we don't understand living on this earth. I send prayers and hugs your way! 💜💜👃

Hi Allison. One religious belief (Advaita Vedanta) suggests that what happens to us in this life is a consequence of karma brought forward from our previous life. Of course there is a lot more to it but far too much to go into here. Thanks for your wise words .

I do not believe that God has a plan for people to suffer, and that is any kind of suffering at all. In Genesis chapter 3, the serpent was basically trying to prove God a liar. Now, this would not only have been witnessed by God, the serpent nor Adam and Eve, but all the angels in heaven. So, God had to allow humans to prove for themselves that he was not a liar, remember, we have the gift of free will. Let's look at an example, If you are a classroom teacher and you are teaching a particular lesson and one of your student should ridicule your method in front of the class, how do you think the students would react if you chastised that student and just continued with your method? A good teacher would allow the student to show you and the rest of the class his/her way that would have been the ideal thing to do. So whether the students way is wrong or right, would not have been forced upon them, but they would have seen from their own effort. In the book of Job, based on the conversation between the devil and God, God allowed terrible things to happen to Job...he didn't cause it, it wasn't his plan, it was just allowed. God is love.
