Wayne is a national treasure up here in Canada. You can see the reverence he had for both his Dad and Mom. Great human being to strive to be like 👍

I’m from the UK and don’t follow hockey whatsoever, I had heard of Gretzky prior but was absolutely astonished at his achievements when doing some research. He’s surely goated and should be named along side MJ, Tiger Woods, Ali and so on and so forth.

walter was a legend as much as wayne in my opinion, whenever i find myself up on my high horse the famous walter quote 'no matter how good you think you are, somebody is better than you' pops into my head
This is the type of guest that really brings out the best from Theo. It makes this podcast stick out from the rest, just pure amazing vibes, laughs and great conversation!
This was such a great episode Theo, you’re the man bro.
What an iconic duo Theo killing it non stop lately. Easily number 2 pod for me now behind Rogan
Walter Gretzky was a sweetheart of a man. He would talk to anyone and was to me the kind of dad every kid would want to have. A salt of the earth unassuming and intrinsically kind man. Wayne has a lot of his dad in him and you can see it in an instant.
I grew up in Edmonton in the 80’s. To be a kid and an Oilers fan at that time was such a privilege. The 80’s Oilers brought so much joy to Edmonton kids, in a city where there wasn’t much to do especially during the dead of winter. He is a part of our childhood that is why he means so much to us. Not to mention he is so humble and likeable. I’m 45 now. Thank you Wayne and all the boys on the bus for making my childhood memories so magical.
Gretzky is the undeniable GOAT.

RIP Walt your a fucking legend
The story of Walter Gretzky letting the dude crash on his couch is probably the nest Canadian story ever❤️🇨🇦
He's a example of what great person is a true inspiration as a athlete and a person
I remember my parents told me they met Walter Gretzky on a cruise years ago and he was going from table to table in the dining room just to chat with new people. He loved talking to folks from all over, a very gregarious nature. He was especially excited when they told him they were from Edmonton.
If you grew up in Ontario, there’s a strong possibility you met Walter Gretzky at some point.. which shows just how much time and energy he gave to the game and the kids who play it. A true hero and gentleman
I was born in Brantford, we lived right behind the Gretzky’s, we had a small chain link fence between our yards. I can attest that they had an ice rink in their backyard every winter.
Finally the Great One is getting some shine 🫡
I won an MVP at the Gretzky hockey tournament as a kid and got to meet Walter and also at the Quebec peewee tourny and he was so nice and it wasn't a meet and greet take a pic and move on. He was super nice and caring and awesome
Walter was alway nice to all kids who have met him. When i drive thru brantford he's the first person to come to mind.
WALTER WAS A GREAT PERSON
Walter was a truly amazing man I remember meeting him in elementary school he used to go around to different schools and do assemblies

Wayne is a Heroe to many ‼️
This is a great clip...
My older brother had an natural talent for hockey, no joke he was doing the same thing playing on AAA teams 2-3 years younger than every one else on the team, always the captain, never had to do try outs as every team wanted him 1st, top goal scorer, faster more agile than everyone he played against.....but my dad was 2 hard on him always pushing him if he didn't get a hat trick each game, etc and it pushed the love for the game my brother had and he quit and declined an offer to play in the OHL my dad shouldn't have been so hard on him about it

The thumbnail looks like an old Opie and Anthony clip. Like they went skating or something.
I wonder how Wayne Gretzky would feel about Theo anti-french canadian narrative? With all these french canadian idols The Great One had??
Theo are you trying to bring back 80s hairstyles and fashion? Nice Stuart Smalley pull over. And gosh darn it people like me.
The whole family are great people raised with class manners golden souls
i met walter dozens of times and he was a joy in person to chat with as a young minor hockey player
