100%. He had to cut that rope, on his BEST FRIEND to save his sister. That scene where they broke down together on the cliff side is going to live in my head forever. He was the first one she saw joy in, and he was nothing like his father. Honestly Steph is cool but felt more sideline to me than anything. Ryan and Alex survived trauma together and had to rely on each other and trust each other

@@sinny721 so did Steph tho and she still wasn't fully over that trauma but she was willing to believe you regardless of the circumstances not only cuz shes still a outsider but cuz she feels more connected to you and the same goes for Alex while all 3 of them have a deep connection it was just that one was a lot more solid and Ryan wasn't really around much like Steph

Obviously very late in catching this but I think what really pushed me to go for Ryan in my first playthrough was during the first time we meet him when Steph comes out of the radio booth and very angry and the minute Ryan notices how uncomfortable Alex is, he steps in to try to help and as someone on the spectrum who has issues with stimulation, that just got me. So yeah love the big guy.

I always go for the gay romances but they made RYAN and expected me not to choose him. Words can’t explain how perfect he is like damn I wanna-🤤

The rooftop scene is SO much more romantic and intimate with Ryan. The shy way Alex and Ryan look at each other while they talk is adorable (Alex and Steph don’t do this). Also it has the really cute “I really wanna kiss you right now/I know” moment. I don’t know why, but I also really like the fact that the kiss makes the plants grow rather than causing shooting stars.

One thing I love about ryan's romance over stephs is that he doesnt do that thing steph does, where steph is like "you're so busy helping everyone else with their needs, have you ever actually thought about what you need?" after basically outright saying she wants alex to leave haven and go traveling with her, and im like...yo bro, I get what the writers were going for, but that just kind of makes it seem like Steph thinks she knows what alex needs better than alex does, even though they barely know each other, which is just not my cup of tea. Meanwhile Ryan leaves it very up in the air, like "if you decide to put down roots here we'll always have a place for you" which is ACTUALLY allowing alex room to make her own decisions, and he isnt trying to act like he knows her more than he does. It's funny because Im a bi woman with a heavier leaning toward my attraction to women, but I just...didnt like steph's romance. It felt flighty and childish, like it wouldn't last. It's impulsive and "in the moment", which seems romantic when you're a teenager or I suppose in your early twenties, but it just isnt realistic and not a good basis for a long lasting relationship. Ryan to me just feels like the more natural and mature choice, but my preference here is also just based on life experience.

I completely agree, ryan was the best!! He treated Alex so kindly & it was just a whole different vibe from steph. I usually do love lesbian couples but steph and Alex just aren’t a match. I can’t picture alex w anyone but Ryan.

OK I have no regrets about pairing Steph and Alex, as I think they're a good couple, but Ryan? He's coming with me.

I was going for the steph ending before playing but when Alex met Ryan I felt I needed to for their ending. It was amazing and just feel bad for the scene when Steph leaves... I wanted her to stay as well

Can I admit that when Ryan said no I'm sorry I screamed and almost threw my playstation controller while yelling I did everything right! He was supposed to be on my side what-oh.

I like how Ryan and Steph are both good romantic choices. A lot of times, they make a gay and straight relationship an option, but they blatantly make the gay relationship better. There’s no bias here, Ryan and Steph are both such good choices

The Diane date scene is so funny to me

Finally played it. I wanted an option without romance to not break up the friendship they had. So I tried to romance nobody and ended up with Steph. Which is okay but if I knew I HAD to choose I probably would have chosen Ryan as well...

I'm straight irl, so most of the time, I just pick female characters regardless of if it makes sense for the actual protagonist, but tbh, I picked Ryan on my playthrough of this game. In LiS1 I went for Chloe, in BtS I went for Rachel, and in LiS2 I went for Cassidy, but this was the one LiS game where I 100% picked the male character instead. I just felt like he was much more stable and what Alex needed rather than Steph, who was more of a 'wild lesbian love' stereotype that was already done well with a more interesting character (Chloe) in the 1st game. I definitely think staying in Haven Springs w/ Ryan is the most fulfilling ending for Alex.

I liked steph, she had so much potential but the writers could’ve done more with both characters

okay but steph pulled off the diane scene wayyy better we can all agree she made her BLUSH

This is always SO hard for me to choose because I would personally chose Steph if it were me and I like to play these games by making the same decisions I would make if it were me BUT Alex and Ryan just have such clear and undeniable chemistry.

I may have been a LITTLE petty in the end, because I was completely rooting for Ryan, but (In case someone hasn't finished it yet) when I made it to the plot twist and Ryan didn't stand up for me I full on exited out and went back to the spring fest to give it to Steph. I didn't want to re play the last part of the game, but I HAD to be petty lol

man I'm like 75% straight but I think these games flipped my script because I went like 75% gay. That 25% straight is 15% reserved for my husband and 10% Ryan, 5% Warren. The 75% gay... max gets 0%, bc I ain't into that cutesie girly type, but Rachel gets 20% just because shes the type that would seduce me with her eyes and then dump me after a snog and leave me alone and sad, so then I'd give 25% to Chloe bc she's just THE BEST. She's hot, funny, and just a bad ass. Thing is, she's the most like me (yeah im the shit) so we'd end up besties and I'd throw 25% at steph and we'd end up sticking together. That extra 5% goes to Alex, only bc of her thiccness... she's pasically the only one of them I wouldn't break when I touched. They need to stop making all the lesbians so waifish ffs.

Was Steph full on into girls or does she prefer both? Honestly, maybe her and Ryan would have been the better pairing that way we didn’t have to choose, I don’t think Steph or Ryan really match with Alex very much.

Ryan really has more of an older brother energy, not that he’s a replacement for gabe but they act similar and it really seems Alex and Steph have more romantic chemistry. His an Alex relationship is sweet but Steph is definitely the more romantic option

Ok hear me out. Ryan is 6 billion% better then steph. Ryan is such a kind guy. The amount of stuff you go through with him is crazy. He saves you from a rockslide. Hes adorable. He is a great role player. Alex has better chemistry with him. Alex and ryan have a bigger friendship at the start. Steph is great but ryan all the way imo.
