I played this game as a dating sim with Ryan and I don't regret it

Thank you for another great vid! I chose Ryan over Steph (controversial) but i think Ryan was a good choice for Alex if your thinking of her future.He seemed more settled which is what I felt Alex needed.Steph was destined for a life outside Haven Springs.

I agree! The chemistry is undeniable with Steph but the grounded ness and emotional intelligence from Ryan is what Alex needs I think.

Kinda think they have to go together. Someone who is this totally in control infallible bastion of cool gets boring really quickly. Screwing up is part of the fun. I just love where Ryan paints the picture of himself coming down the mountain path and his plaid jacked flowing in the breeze... and Alex saying "Dork" with this "i am madly in love with you" look in her eyes... I can like _so_ relate to that.

The scene that got me laughing the most with Alex and Ryan is when he's like super happy and they're like laughing towards the end of chapter 2

I believe that Ryan is the most important character after Alex in the game due to his dad being the main bad guy and him trusting her or not plus if u don't romance him and u leave town he just seems like a broken man who lost everything so I love the Ryan romance because he still has someone in his life after losing Gabe and Steph leaving town

I think Gabe was dead the second that massive boulder knocked him over the edge. Ryan cutting the rope was the right choice and Saved Alex.

Tbh with Steph you don't really get as much interaction with her like Ryan. I love Ryan a lot more. He's a sweetheart and caring. I love Steph ofc but I'd choose Ryan any day.

I only had fear and joy documented for the Dire Wolf emotions, and then someone brought up the "Okay but there's a sadness thing...how do you get that?" And I had the theory that it was flirting with Ryan, but choosing Steph, so thanks for confirming that lmao. I was gearing up for the HOURS of gameplay it would have taken because I did not know what constituted Ryan's love score yet. So thanks again for fueling my obsession with knowing literally the everything and saving me from playing this game 100 times...again.

And every time I play, I either find something new, or someone says something new and it's like...UGH. NOW I GOTTA GO GET THAT DIALOGUE NOW. Oh that's a great idea! Yes, I completely know that feeling - mostly around Ryan's love score and the Me tarot card. Everytime I think I'm done, I find something else. That's why I think this game is so brilliant (and why I want to dig in even more despite the frustration with that) FYI, I'll likely be posting videos on the Riley/Mac/Eleanor experience next, but let me know if there's any other areas you want to see.

i love this so much! i had been trying to figure out the exact parameters for getting the highest possible relationship with ryan for while, since it seems so much harder than with steph! i wonder if there is another variable for ryan to get a sixth flirtation option, and if so, i have no clue what it could be!

So much harder, right?!? I know. It's driving me crazy and the reason it too me over 2 more months to upload after Steph's video. It is interesting that you can flirt with the Serpent no matter what though, so maybe that truly is the thing. I just want to find out for sure one day!!

I love your channel , Ryan is amazing and I am happy I got him on my last play through . The weird thing is I chose different ones when I had to comfort Ryan in the mountains.

I know, he's so grounded and tunes into Alex so well. I love him!! ❤️ Ya, the other mountain choices are just as good I think. You just need 2 of those + the hug to get the smoke show comment, but you technically don't need any of them correct to get the big kiss at the end. You could just do Hottest Distraction + Flirt + Rose and still get the kiss with no other points. There are a bunch of combos. It's just that smoke show comment and the Tarot card that depend on getting most of those mountain choice points.

You did such a thorough job. Well done. The time you sank into this for us to get spicy with the polygon babes is admirable.

Got top love score with Ryan on my first playthrough playing blindly, and he didn't side with me during the council meeting, because I took Charlotte's anger and didn't take Pike's fear. That hurt A LOT.

Wow! I didn’t realize how much different the dialogue would change with the phrases you chose on the mountain..definitely going to try it again! I loveeee Ryan so much I always choose him. Steph is great! But for Alex? I feel he can bring that stability and home she needs while Steph is more spontaneous and can let her be loose and free, I feel she needs a home and finally found it. Right?!? That mountain... man, it's tough because all of the answers seem "correct" in that moment. I agree. Steph is hot and I love her as a character, but I think that Ryan is the type of person Alex needs. She deserves some stability and someone as emotionally intelligent as him. Steph can get there, but I feel like that chemistry would just overpower the actual relationship.

This is still such a great game after all this time and with the new game announcement i’m going back to it. i wonder, is there a video on if both steph and ryan have high scores or if you have a high score with one but give a rose to the other. i’m just wondering how that would play out! Ooh good question! If they both had 3 points, the comment defaults to the one she picked. If she picked Ryan she’d still say smokeshow flannel… if she picked Steph she’d say badass dj. She would not say the apology to the other person even if they had enough points in this case.

Hello :) Thank you so much for this guide! I actually watched it and Steph’s guide before without realizing you did them, because I know I used them to give both characters equal love points in my later playthroughs :D Seriously, where’s my poly option T.T On my first playthrough, I romanced Ryan because I really loved his “golden retriever” vibe and his dramatic role in the story! I absolutely love couples that face challenges, but eventually overcome them, so you can almost always win me over by adding struggles to a relationship ;) I have one question, btw! In this guide, you explained how many love points you need for a passionate kiss if no one was given a rose. But what exactly decides which character meets Alex at the rooftop if you don’t give them a rose? With an equal love score, I mean? Since the only non-optional choice for a love point is the “hottest distraction”, I assume the character that was chosen will meet Alex later, in case they have the same love score as the character that wasn’t chosen? I really wonder how the “no rose” option works in this case :) Thanks again :D

I know you made this 2 years ago, so I dont know if you discovered the 7th possible love point ( if it exists ) for Ryan, but I might have a suggestion as to where it could exist.... On the mountain top while youre talking to Ryan ( after the 3 rounds of dialogue that gets you 3 love points, but before the hug ) Ryan asks who else knows about Alex's power, her answer is either ' Gabe knew ' or ' youre the first '. Now, this is based on whether or not you told Gabe about your powers on the roof of the Black Latern, so the response Alex gives is preset by that conversation. However, what if that 7th love point is granted only if you DIDNT tell Gabe? As a guy, it occured to me that Ryan may have been honored to be the first person to have Alex confide in about her power... making this a possible love point for Ryan. Clear as mud, I hope? Lol Given the passage of time and the simple fact that I dont know how your system for determining love points works, I dont know if you already attempted this, or, if you didnt, youd want to even bother, but I thought it might be worth looking into. Btw... I love your videos on LISTC... they are both entertaining and informative. Thank you.

Unfortunately I haven't. That is a really good suggestion. I looked back and my tracker, and it looks like I did have a test that could rule it out though unfortunately. That test had 1.) Ryan knew about the powers first 2.) Choose "You Saved Me" 3.) Hugged him I didn't pick any other items that would give points. Then, at the Hotter Distraction choice, I choose Ryan, but Alex did not make the extra "Flannel" flirty comment which does happen if you have at least 3 points so far. So... ugh... I don't think that's a point. Such a good idea though! I truly think Steph just has more than Ryan either accidentally or on purpose. I know they slanted toward Steph overall because of the fanbase loving her overall. She's just an easier high score to get even without that extra point.

is there a way to get top love points with ryan and then not have him believe you at the council meeting? does the love points have an effect on that, or is that solely up to who's trust you get on the committee?

Yes you definitely can get full love points and if you don't do the things I outlined in the Ryan Trust video, he won't believe you! If you are into each other, his dialogue is slightly different during that scene.. and after when he meets you back in your apartment in Chapter 5

I took her towards Alex and yea rooftop kiss stay etc etc. When looking at online percentages I thought id be alone in forgiving Jed , but no like a tun did. In fact in todays climate I thought "no one will choose a few paths I was shocked they did. One that upset me was Alex dancing with old man and him going to the festival was low..

Great question. No, it isn't skipped. If you don't give either one a rose, it will default to either Steph or Ryan depending points or other choices. I'll likely do another video about some of these nuances 🥰

@Max Hunter Still no because you always have to pick one of them as the hottest distraction. So there will always be someone with at least one point. Same goes for a tied score. If the score is completely tied, the hottest distraction (not hardest lol) will be on the roof if no one got a rose.

It’s kind of funny but no matter who you give a rose to, that’s who you end up with on the roof. Even if you have really high love points with one and zero love points with another, that’s what will happen. The only difference is you will not have the extra affection at the end since the points are low, but they will still be your only option for the ending.

Seriously though, have you written a an adult novel per chance? I'd love you to write an adult visual novel to be released on Steam :)

Did you get at least 3 of the points I mentioned? That’s the only way to get the Sad or Fear emotion from him. The video explains all the points and those results! 🥰

There aren't too many differences but I tried it and I find them really interesting. I also may have missed a few differences that you might find!

Oh wait.. I just processed what you said in your original comment. Ok, you picked Ryan as the hottest distraction, then he should have shown Fear.. but you're saying he was Happy. That's really interesting. The testing I did for that included 0, 1, 2, 3, 4 & 5 points. No matter what, if he was picked as the Hottest, he always showed fear for me. That's also consistent with Steph's experience too If you're 100% sure he was picked, I also wouldn't be surprised if there was a game error. I've seen a lot of issues with the Ryan path that seems inconsistent. Really interesting though. I'm sorry I didn't fully process that at first!

I played this and Ryan is more interesting than Steph, Ryan has more outcomes depending on your choices, and Steph is just another Chloe, no matter what you choose, the outcomes are still the same. Ryan feels like a new character and Steph feels like Chloe.

Having watched this video and the Steph video, I can confirm that I had 4-5 points with Ryan at the kiss and basically max with Steph. My only lost points were with the cliff conversation. I hadn't decided who I would romance until the cliff, but it wouldn't have affected my points at all because a lot of romance points were rewarded for things I would have done regardless of whether I was romantically interested in either of them.

Ya, the choices were interesting for both sets of points. They weren't so obviously love-related. I guess I think about it more like... Have i developed a good friendship with this person? Do I care about them overall? Then, do I give them a rose to show I want to take it to the next level? (unless you didn't give a rose to anyone and end up with 1 anyway, which throws that storyline out the window LOL)
