LIFE CHANGING!!! Work Van Drawer Trick...
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
This is one of the best work van hacks I've come up with. This makes sure your drawers are automatically locked in place when you close the drawer. This mechanism ensure that they don't fly open going down the road.

You might be the only guy on social media that when he says “quick tip” it’s actually 1.) Quick 2.) Done the right way and 3.) Actually REALLY helpful. Thank you for your attention to detail and ability to explain things well man! You’re awesome.
When his work van cabinetry looks better than my master bedroom closet :(
Your setup is perfect!!
Some of the best ideas are simple solutions such as this! The hard part is envisioning this when the plan is just a blank piece of paper. Thanks for sharing.

Been done for hundreds of years on boats...🤘
That boy's a genius.
I built out my truck and was looking for a product online like this with no luck. this is a perfect solution!
Been doing contractor work for a "LONG"time and your daily trouble fixes are worth everything, i am extremely mechanical minded but the simple aids to make your day go smoother are one more thing on my list of plenty. Thanks for the mental help its one more thing to allow a small contractor chase important things like getting paid!😊
This guy is my favorite carpentry channels. He's fun to watch and instills confidence.
My boy reinvented the backyard door lock!
I used to build out a lot of vans, I started using locking drawer slides. They have gone down substantially in cost. They have a built in lock lever and stainless steel slides. I also recommend through bolting the slides in.
Thank you so much Spencer!! I have drawers on my truck but was unsure of how to lock in when parked on an incline. Had considered mangetic catches or padbolts but this has a much simpler operation. You should really patent this. Nice job brother 👌
Spencer… awesome as always. 👍👍
I like it. I use a piece of 1x for mine, but I don't always remember. That's usually a bad day.
This is really smart. Thanks for sharing what you built. it should help me organize the chems in my pest control rig.
~ RESPECT ~ nice idea … luv it… my roads are a little rough at times… so seeing your creative idea ! so basic too ; to be nearly, bulletproof… luv it…
Is amazing how simple some things can be but only when you see it already done. Coming up with this using only imagination is another matter.
I'm a full time RVer. This is genius for RVs.
That is slick!! Thank you
The way I drive, I'd need springs on those that hold them down lol. Current setup is Adrian steel aftermarket shelves and drawers, but if I do end up using a wooden cabinet, I'll probably use this idea. Thanks, and cheers.
This is flipping awesome 😮, I have a large mobile bench with tool drawers the still move, but after tomorrow. Nassity the mother of invention.
Simple is the most brilliant!
Nice design, simple, cost effective and easily repeatable.
Super common with boat builders. 🤘
Check out a simple sail boat's galley. It's got all kinds of gadgets like yours to keep things closed. RVs are another place to find these devices.
Genius
Nice idea and job. I had a van and mounted 2 file cabinets that had glass doors that would cover the front of them when closed. To open them pull out the bottom and slide it up and back into a track at the top . Keep your ideas coming and stay safe.
Great idea!!
You magician you! 👏🏼👏🏼
🙋♂️THANKS SPENCER ,VERY CLEVER 🤗🧐💚💚💚
Thanks for sharing, simple design brilliant idea.
It’s like “child-proofing” the van. 🤣 I remember buying similar locks for my daughters decades ago. LOL. I’m sure they have something similar for the RVs.
Great design !
Super nice work!
Great tip and thank you for sharing! I’ve been thinking of putting some drawers in my trailer and I’m going to definitely apply this!
I have outfitted at least 50 vans over the years as a fleet guy. Most of the store-bought metal cabinets these days have a gravity latch that locks a series of drawers when you close them. That also allows for a single pad lock to secure several drawers if you send the van out for servicing. Still in all, I like the attention to detail here.
Those are cool. Simple, cheap and super effective!
Mother of invention. Smart move man. 👍
I love this setup I need something like this for my vivaro
Yeah boy that’s slick
LOVE IT!!! Thanks for Sheaing 👌👌👍👍
Simple and effective..love it
Simple and brilliant.
Neat I can see a low tension spring holding the arm down would assist in secure latching every time & help return after opening.
30 years ago my dad did something similar in his work van with gate latches. The receiver was set back from the front of the drawer face. He also had self closing drawer glides.
VERY clever, Thanks man!
Great design !! You should patent it !!
This could be useful for people who live in their van also. No more loose silverware and underwares flying all over the highway every time you hit a bump on the road
Thank you for the great idea!
This is awesome good thinking will keep it in mind
Very clever and best so simple
I think you’d like locking drawer slides.

Probably faster and easier... But could you make a video about that?
Genius! I’ve watched forever and been so impressed with your carpentry skill but now I see it’s just general big brain syndrome! 🧠
Simple and effective 😊
Awesome tip mate 👍
I don’t have a work van but this idea is awesome 👏
GREAT idea .👍👍
Genius.
Great idea I used butterfly catches and you're right it's something that you have to remember to latch them or it's very startling when the drawer opens up with a bang when it comes open and hits the end of it's run it's also hard on the hardware so thanks for the idea

Oh my goodness I have spent several hours over the last few weeks trying to find a way to latch my DIY cabinets and drawers without installing an expensive, fragile plastic latch.
Nice idea!
That's something I have been looking for, thanks so much 👍👍👍
Might want to get a patent on this one Spence🤘🏻
That's really cool. You should market that.
Great idea
Thanks for the knowledge
The overland crowd has something similar but integrated into the drawer slides themselves. Auto locking, nothing else to figure out, but this is definitely better if doing a retrofit to existing cabinets.
Good idea thanks for sharing
Well designed!
Very clever !!!
That is a really good idea!!!
Good idea !
Yeah that strapping only works that good cause the lay out ,nd machining on it was installed by someone who can see the end before the project starts. Yes that's you guy! Keep posting ,I just found you in my feed. Enjoy your trick on trim in the dark.that was trueness.
Nice job
Brilliant!
Look at how boats do their drawers. Most just have a lip below and lift slightly.
Nice one!
I put a small spring on mine to lock the lever down with some tension.
Very cool. And so simple!
Very nice, thanks for sharing!!!
Love it! Thanks for sharing!
Genius👍🏼
Baby proofed your van , koodos 👍🏻
❤ the short! Keep it up please
Nice tip.
Slick as hell. Copyright that quick and sell it to Forest River (owned by Birkshire Hathaway and owns 90% of RV manufacturing in the US)
Shark Tank. Put a royalty on that
You’re a genius. Very innovative. Much respect! 🫡
Ever think about getting the manufactured and putting them on sale 👍☘️🇮🇪👏
Genius!
GENIUS!!
I invented this 10 years ago! It’s called the drawer closer holdy thingy! You’ll be hearing from my lawyer!
Simple and easy to use.
Steel plate behind drawer on back of cabinet Strong magnet on back of drawer 4 years and no issues and no rattling like you have
Looks like you could add a little weight or a spring above or below to make sure there is downward pressurpressure... other than that, j love this and will totally be stealing this to make my dad some drawers for tools or anything I want to keep raccoons and skunks out of
Way cool idea
You should have that idea utilized as a useful product.
Nice!
Maryland USA 🇺🇸
Perfect.
Smart 👍
Great idea.
