Sometimes i feel like unsubscribing to your channel just so i can subscribe back to it again... You're entertaining, refreshing, but still honest, Informative without the clickbaity none-sense. I don't comment too often online but today I really felt like sharing my appreciation of this channel. I hate the feeling of time wasted after watching a video, and so far you did not disappoint. Nowadays, true honesty in the Journalistic/KZread (tech) media landscape is in short supply sadly. You definitely should have much more subs. Anyhow, Thank you! Also when it comes to digital detox if you ever have the chance to do so, please consider trying the Light phone 2 in combination with your current smartphone for a change... Just an Idea. I switched to iphone last year because I wanted to try something new - and at first, I was really annoyed by the lack of features compared to my 4-year-old android. I then ended up getting a MacBook Pro and an apple watch (because "why not try it when I have an iPhone now"). iPhones are about the convenience, simplicity and style, while androids just have more features and are more open. But in the end, it's just a brick in my pocket I use to open the same apps as before - it was easier to switch than I expected. But I'm still confused about the ecosystem - everyone keeps talking about it and I guess I just expected it to be something more than it actually is. A lot of it just feels like either solutions to non-existing problems or solutions to the drawbacks to using iOS compared to android 😅 Some of the features are cool though - like automatically filling SMS codes on my computer, but it's a minor thing haha

I think sometimes all we need is a bit of a change. I am sure if I was on Android after 15 years, I'd find the iPhone just as refreshing. My perspective is from someone who used the iPhone since the first one and I am just enjoying that change, even if it means breaking the ecosystem. That automatically filling of SMS one time passwords is awesome alright 🤣

Totally agree. 23 Ultra is a very nice phone, but all this customization BS is just that, BS. There are too many customization options that the average user will never use or ever need. Customization is the basket Android chose to put all their eggs in. I still struggle with Android backups, authentication apps, smoothness across all apps. iOS just works in all things. The ecosystem works better than anything Android offers. Pick up my iPad, I have access to all my data and apps. Pick up my Macbook, same thing. iOS is polished and does not care about all this customization nonsense. And I for one am grateful for that.

By the way there are no walls nor gates, you wanna Android you just walk across the carrier store and pick one out. Takes about 10 seconds (oh my, so difficult wahhh). The reason the Apple ecosystem is so sticky is because it's er, uh way better. Samsung doesn't have an ecosystem, they don't do their own OS, they don't do their own SoCs, not their own SiPs, they don't know what an SDK is, no Samsung branded world class store (except for those in Gangnam). They're like every Tom, Dick, and Harry in Android land. Google OS, Qualcomm SoC, bunch of components from Shenzhen, presto you've made an Android.

That whole ecosystem thing is just one big trick/excuse for Apple to make one buy only their products, not because they are packed with features but because connecting any Apple device to anything that was not produced by Apple is nightmare. Before you know it a) you invested a lot of money b) you made yourself think that nothing outside of that ecosystem is even worth trying. And what's the point of tech loving if not trying all the best options available... Apple users need to be more demanding, "it just works" just isn't enough these days !

I have no regrets at all after switching from Android to iPhone 13 mini. Nowadays, Android phones are getting more and more gigantic making it uncomfortable to carry as it doesn’t fit perfectly into the pocket making it necessary to have an extra pouch. I find myself uncomfortable to use big phones as my hands are quite small. My iPhone 13 mini have addressed all these and I’m pretty much impressed and satisfied with it in terms of quality and performance despite being small and it also offers another advantage of being lightweight too.

100% agree. I have recently gotten a Galaxy S23Ultra and iPhone 13 for Apple stuff. It took me about a month to setup and get comfortable with S23Ultra, and I got to see the BIG difference with S23U. Basic things like how I want to charge battery, Samsung has dozens of apps to customize max charge level but Apple doesn’t even let custom charge apps in Apple Store, why? What about tracking, I can turn off GPS instantly but iOS location switch is buried in settings. Most importantly as an outdoor person, I like seeing my S23U screen in sunlight. iPhone is an indoor phone, I cannot even read some text message on iPhone. I went back to Samsung when my 3 year old iPad was running significantly less per charge, but my Samsung Tab S4 tablet still performs better and lasts longer than my 3 years old iPad after 5 years. However like you, I can't give up my Apple Watch Ultra and am trying to figure out a way to keep using my watch with a "cheaper iPhone". Does this mean that your apple watch is linked to your iPhone mobile number and continues to sync your health data etc to that phone and is completely independent of your main android device? I have also heard of people using their apple watch with an android device however with limited functions. Be interesting to understand how you've set yours up and if you're using all of your apps (for example WhatsApp etc) with your android device which means you won't receive notifications on your watch? In other words, aside from functioning as a watch, does it do anything else with your setup? I'd like to at least continue to use the Health apps (too much history to lose) with mine and maintain my apple subscriptions (e.g. family sharing). Cheers

And after using apple watch for over a year, watch SE 44 mm; my anxiety for battery is there every time I need to extend beyond my working day around 8 pm [not using for all alerts, only necessary alerts and notifications]. For all practical purpose, it will be around 20 percentage or less. So I gave trial to watch Active 2 [this is 2 year old model which I purchased with S21 ultra]. And Watch Active 2 gives me happy battery life of 2 and half days with all alerts enabled. And with that, I use my galaxy buds plus / Airpods pro depending on my mood and place. Airpods pro causes me earache after long use and buds plus don't fit well for physical activities.

I’m going through the same dilemma as you and hearing you express your concerns makes it seem like you are still in half minds about your decision. Yes, it is indeed extremely difficult to get out of the ecosystem and almost all people who have another Apple device, have an iPhone even if they have an Android device as their main phone. In summary - you can have an Android phone for their features, but if you are into the Apple ecosystem then it gets extremely difficult to get out, and its not worth the effort in most cases.

So sitting on table doing nothing it is just bit over 1% battery per hour with BT and Wifi on, even with celluar plan,. It works well for Teams calls as my customer have strict policy from which device you can log in and how. Much more convenient on iPhone/iPad than Android.

I get two or three days out of my iPhone Mini 13. I seldom use it for calling however. I use it a lot for financial stuff (I have the Apple card) and for social media stuff. Like you I have an iWatch (Series 3 w/cellular). When I dash out for short errands, I wear the iWatch to pay for coffee/food and/or receive the odd phone call. On your switch to Android, it's cool. They have similar capabilities.

Alex your videos are always a pleasure to watch. I understand your frustration with apple. Jobs was a perfectionist when it came to software and hardware but Tim is about expanding Apple beyond those two things. And making sure the company stays alive and that’s what Jobs wanted. I struggle between the two devices as well but I must admit even with its bugs the iPhone is simple, more cohesive and less intrusive. The fact that I need to sign in to three different services to use a Samsung device is irksome. I had a PM14 but I returned it for the pro 14 and I find it the perfect fit. I totally understand ya there. I love Airpods Pro 2 and Apple Watch Ultra. They are amazing but the iPhone iOS is such a big piece of 💩 and it is hard to tolerate it just for headphones and watch. I was using Z fold 4 together with iPhone 13 Pro, Apple Watch Ultra for training and Airpods Pro 2 during sleeps. Recently I got too scared of the possibility of Fold 4 screen cracking. As a result, I sold everything and got S23 Ultra, Buds 2 Pro and Galaxy Watch 4 Classic. The phone is the best but now I have lots of problems. I can hear construction work during sleep in my Buds 2 Pro because the ANC is not that good, my Galaxy Watch 4 Classic is working terribly with Fitbod app for trainings - it fails syncing sometimes and it won't let me modify weight and reps on the watch itself. I am thinking of doing the same thing as you. I need proper training and good sleep back please 😂

12:29 interesting. Tastes vary. I find the squared-off iPhones _much_ more comfortable to use (and hold) for long periods. It’s the rounded-edge phones that I really notice the extra weight and awkwardness with larger phones, because I need a much more forceful grip. The squared-off edges make it easy to hold with less effort and less force, IME .

@@Lugiox It's actually strange, because early on, I felt there was a battery issue, but for the last 6 months or more, I have had no problem at all. It usually lasts 2 days, but I am not a heavy user. I've never had a problem with it overheating unless I use wireless charging in the car and then it gets cooked. I stopped doing that and only charge by cable in the car now. I do also have a portable battery pack that can hold about 4-5 complete charges. That comes in really handy if I have forgot to charge and I'm dashing out to work. My Wife has the 12 Mini and there is a noticable difference in the lack of battery power. The 13 seemed to solve that and I still remain very happy with the phone. I am conxidering upgrading to the 15 Pro. As much as I love the small and compact nature of the Mini, I do find it hard to text/use whatsapp etc. I think it's unbeatable for people on the move and need portability. I had a note 3 back in 2013 loved it and the camera and things you could do with it put the iPhone to shame. That was back when every 2 years you got phone with contract, I just used it on wifi because I liked the apple ecosystem were you could back up iPhone to iTunes. At the time android did not have anything similar. The other turn off was back then I was never able to get another operating system update for the note 3, I understand nowadays android gets several updates. I also have the iwatch, bought that just to see the hype and I think I would feel lost without it. I know there are samsung smart watches. With the cost of high end phones it's hard to jump ship that often. I would be curios what do you think you could get for trade in on iphone 14 pro max 1tb storage next year if you were to move into upcoming s24 ultra. The entry level iphones did not offer enough to trade better off in my cell phone museum. I would like to see a video how to make the transition from one ecosystem to the other, how to trade in phone for best price, or sell out right. Thought your video was Great had to watch because of iphone 13 mini, I just got one for my 86 yr old mother that had my iphone se 2016. I switched to Android about 8 years ago and haven't really looked back since. The freedom it provides is simply unbeatable. None of the little ecosystem advantages can compete with a device that just lets me do what I want to do. The financial aspect certainly helps, too. Seems to me that the Apple ecosystem is mostly for casual users that stick to the usual apps, very specific kinds of power users, and, of course, Americans.

Só I did the opposite. Been using android forever and got iPhone 13 mini and put my sim card in it. I cannot use the 13 mini as my only phone, it is way too small. Typing long messages is horrendous. Battery life is not so bad since I do any social media and watching videos on my android phone. I want to try getting a iPhone 14 plus, for the bigger screen, longer battery life, and lighter than iPhone pro phones. Thinking about getting a bad esn fold 3 for Android use since it will be on wifi anyway.

Alex, caí de paraquedas aqui no seu canal. Sensacional! Inclusive estou escrevendo em português, caso deseje manter tudo em ingles... .let me know. Estou pensando em pegar um macbook. Para edicao de fotos primordialmente. Porem não quero deixar de usar Android. Tenho um Pixel 6 e acho fantástico. Tudo. Zero a reclamar.

Hey Alex. I recently switched to an iPhone 13 pro max from my Samsung Note 8 and I must say, I find myself using my phone less often. The iPhone's performance is smooth and all, coming from a 7 year old device but the screen looks washed out compared to the Note 8 screen. There isn't a lot to do on the iPhone. Hardly any customisation to mention the least, no flexibility. Overall, I have had a pretty boring experience and I haven't even had the iPhone for up to a month.

I use both ecosystems as well and I use the Samsung s20 ultra as my daily driver and the iPhone 12 mini. I love my freedom to switch between ecosystems on the fly. I also use the iPad Pro and mini 6. And I just got the Apple Watch Series 7. As I used a Samsung gear s3 frontier for years now and I needed a new watch. Since I’m planning on getting a new battery for my Samsung watch. But it is the best tech decision I’ve made in a while.

There is NO way i will ever WASTE money on a iphone ever again. and i have a college that still has his s21ultra , that phone is LIGHTning fast and ZERO problem , sick phone. and that phone came in 2021, and it looks insane good, screen , camera , and battery. and its LONG WAY ahead of 14promax, and thats a s21ultra that came in 2021. like wtf are apple doing. if steve jobs was hare he had probly Cried hahaha no CAP

I was suffering with a buggy and awful iPhone 12 since it's release and I made the decision to get a S23 Ultra when it was announced. Well, it has been the best decision I've made so far. I was in the apple ecosystem and had iphones for an entire decade (before that I had androids) and I loved each iPhone I got up until the 12. It constantly had problems and it felt so boring to use. I initially had that apple ecosystem withdrawal when I bit the bullet and switched, but I got over it pretty quick and I don't use my iPhone at all anymore LOL. I will say the galaxy watches Samsung sells are way more functional and fun to use than apple watches. I used an apple watch 1 and 3 and they felt pretty basic and boring, but now I have a Galaxy watch 4 classic and I have no regrets ditching those watches. It's funny to see all the fellow ex-apple users expressing such relief after switching and it is so true!
