Life Aboard... The Enterprise NCC-1701-D | Spaceship Breakdown
Ойын-сауық
There’s no denying it, Star Trek is everywhere right now. Whether you’re watching them or not, it’s hard to avoid the looming shadow of Star Trek Discovery, Prodigy, Strange New Worlds, Picard and the truly wonderful Lower Decks.
But in this age of questionable reboots, pointless sequels and regurgitated dross, there is still something that persists in Star Trek. Somewhere, before the sparkling lights and horrific body modifications, there was something quite magical about the world of Trek. And that something - was the Enterprise NCC-1701-D.
You wanna know how many weapons it has, its top speed, sure, have fun, there’s plenty of content out there already. But, what I’ve wanted to know for the last thirty odd years is easy - what would it actually be like to live there?

Life Aboard is a series dedicated to examining what it would be like to live, work and serve aboard some of science fiction's most notorious spaceships. Forget the laser cannons, the made up technobabble and let's ask ourselves what the important questions are - how's breakfast, and where do I sleep?

At 13:15 Replication technology isnt used by absolutely everyone as far as clothing or tapestry is concerned. The machines may have a few options but there are shops aboard space stations (deep space nine) and other colonies or planets they visit. Shops, Tailors, Barbers, Bartenders, Restaurants all that stuff is still needed and constantly used in the Star Trek universe. Some people are lazy and some people have no talent or imagination or don't like the options in the replicator. So, regardless if you're assigned to a starship such as the Enterprise D or smaller ships like the U.S.S. Rhode Island or U.S.S. Intrepid, replicators don't replace those things entirely.
I was alarmed & dismayed to find no mention in the entirety of the video of the presence of a really good yarn shop 😀
I'll say one thing about this video nice touch with the computer start up sequence from Alien at the beginning of the video.

A fellow sound fx-aphile, I see! Good spot 😎
If you think about how almost every episode they run to red alert, "stressful" life aboard the ship is putting it mildly.
This channel is great, thank you random youtube recommend, subbed!
I used to occasionally use 'Buffer time' when I worked as a cinema projectionist.
I wonder if anyone in Starfleet ever played a historic record of a event on a view screen, and requested the computer to make sure the footage is flipped. If not, I'll love to know why it seems it has to be like that.
Extra capacity is built into warships designed for long term use. Warships designed before WW2 had difficulty as new systems were added during the war. New radars took up room, required more electrical power, and space for the crews. All this in addition to new and/or additional weapons systems that were designed and added which also took up space and required more crew. The Burke class destroyers are arguably the best ever deployed, but the extra space built into the design had over the decades been filled up and a newer, probably bigger design will soon be needed.
Another Easter egg fan loving Louder Decks. Popularity only rhymes with quality I suppose.
Great work! Very entertaining
Just goes to show, even in the 24th century any barkeep worth their salt still keeps a scattergun behind the bar. In our time it scatters buckshot, in the future, the unlucky sod's atoms.
Dont go to far...she has limitation of distance❤🙂
330sqft is pretty small.
Hey man, great work, but there's a jump between 21:59 and 22:03?
