Thanks Phill, great video, very balanced with enough detail of preparing the tool for use and practical examples to demonstrate performance. I was initially sceptical of the product as it always irritates me when the product is clearly described incorrectly, I would agree with you on the faux leather and beech handles, but neither of these make the chisels any less effective so all good ! The design of these looks exactly like the Aldi chisels that there have been many videos about and famously recommended by Paul Sellers, he actually removed the metal ring from the top of the handles and re-shaped them to his preferred shape for comfort and handling ( I think that may have been on his blog rather than KZread though) just in case you're interested !

Cheers Andy! Yea I am not sure why some specifications might be incorrect although the Chisels do still seem good. Yes they do look similar to the old Aldi chisels from a while back although I do think they are different. I am not sure if I like the metal ring. It doesn't bother me too much (yet) although I might remove them in the future. I will check out the Paul Sellers stuff too!

Well they came out razer sharp, fancy popping down my workshop and sharpening my chisels mate 😅

Hi Phill, Look a good set of chisels for £27, and as you say good for DIY projects and not for fine work but saying that you have put a good edge on it and cuts a good as a carpenters set of chisels. Great review on these chisels and a great video Take care

Cheers Shaun 👍🏻 yea I was surprised with how I got them and not with too much effort either. Decent chisels I think.

I have the same, you are right, not leather, and not walnut. However the hardness and edge retention is pretty good. I have used them for mortise as well as dovetailing and they worked well

Luckily I'm not too bothered about the faux leather case and the beech handles seem good anyway. I was surprised with the edge retention. No chipping or noticeable damage. A few more strops and they were super sharp again.
