Liar Liar Court Scene

Фильм және анимация

One of my favorite scenes from Liar Liar.
Breaks my heart that this kind of nonsense still happens.
As my beautiful daughter's sixteenth birthday rapidly approaches, I take a glance back at some of the unnecessary hardships that she and I have had to endure throughout this beautiful journey.
So this one's for my Imperfect, Indestructible, Intentional #Fathers out there, who have dug their heels in and stayed the course, against all odds.
We see you, we Love you, may the bond you have with your child forever remain unbreakable and may you continue to inspire them to be the best they can be, as you continue to be the best you can be.
God blees you all. 👏🏾🙌🏾🙏🏾

As someone with Aspergers Syndrome, I’d like to give a great big THANK YOU to a lot of the commenters here. I saw this when I was 12 or 13, didn’t understand what was going on - in hindsight, I THOUGHT it was my Aspergers, but it turns out ALOT of you didn’t understand the scene at that age either! Thanks for making me realize that, as far as this scenario is concerned, it was (for lack of a better word) normal for me to NOT understand this scene at that age.

But now as a man who has identified his own "daddy issues" and has experienced a mother seeking to take your child away from you via the court system and minipulation, this scene hits harder and harder with every view. My heart goes out to anyone who is even remotely effected by the themes from this scene.

@@voiceacticon667 Do you not understand the importance of mothers as well or just fathers? Fathers teach kids valuable life lessons, they are there for you when your in trouble, they support you when you succeed, they set boundaries that are important for learning discipline and work ethic, and they are fun to be around in general. I feel like I'm explaining human emotions to an alien. Everyone should already know why fathers are important, especially if you have a father.

@@FatherManus everything you just said, a mother can do those things as well, not only the father. I hardly had my father growing up because my father is forbidden from being in America. Last time I saw my dad was last month and before that i saw him 4 years ago, and before that it was 8 years, and before that it was 3 and before that 3 again. I only saw my dad through breaks. I hardly see my mother be she’s in the country side working. So my parents are hardly ever around me, so what? I had my aunts and Uncles; they aren’t my parents but who cares, they are still my elders and they are adults who have been in this world before I was born just like my parents. And my aunts and uncles and just as much raise me through their experiences just as my mother and father. I just saw my mother yesterday and just saw my father last month. So both parents aren’t around me that much, who cares? It’s not like my mother and father are the only elders around me that can teach me right from wrong.

I really like how in this scene, the same mournful music from Max's birthday party is playing. It cleverly mirrors the two scenes where Fletcher neglected his son for his job and sex life, and now Mrs Cole has done the same thing by neglecting her marriage and children, and taking away their loving father for hedonistic reasons. As everyone keeps saying, Fletcher's face at 5:08 is Jim Carrey's great talent: his guilt of turning Mrs Cole into the same person he was, but also his realization of "No, this isn't who I am anymore".

The Mask Dumb and Dumber Ace Ventura: Pet Detective Ace Ventura: When Nature Calls Liar Liar The Trueman Show Me, Myself and Irene The Grinch Bruce Almighty A Series of Unfortunate Events Name ONE bad film in that. You can't. Jim Carrey is one of the best actors ever.
