Omg I love this thing! It’s like a Cybertruck and a Chevy Lumina MPV had a baby! I wish vans were still a thing in the US because they are vastly superior for passenger and cargo carrying than the SUVs we are so obsessed with.

Me too! This is actually the way I imagined future mpv:s to look like when I was a teenager in the late 80:ies. I did however think it would happen a bit sooner, but still - cool that it finally did.

Vans are pretty dead in the US. However... Li Auto got to where they are by building luxury SUVs. Their current products like the L8, which is a large 3 row electric luxury with 100 miles of pure electric range for in town use, and 500 plus miles of range on road trips if you use gas. Now THAT would sell like hotcakes in the US.

Elon Musk was right, if Chinese car companies were allowed to compete here in North America, they would destroy every single car company here. The amount of new cars that the Chinese are popping out each month is absolutely mind blowing, and all of these cars have extremely competitive pricing.

This is a super sleek camper van candidate. It's giving me Prius vibes and looks like it'd be easy to drive, park, and blend in with. Bring it to America Li Auto!

I love the looks of this thing. Futuristic and old school at the same time. This would look awesome next to a cybertruck on the driveway.

Good review number 31. I think it looks really good and I don't find it as polarizing as you suggest. It just looks a bit more modern than typical MPVs. What I do notice is that it's yet another indication of just how far ahead of the rest of the world the Chinese auto sector is. It's becoming ridiculous, by comparison in North American it's like the dark ages.

Is it really. When it comes to cars reliability and durability matters where Chinese brands do not excel so far and this electronics stuffed machine doesn't exactly inspire confidence. Sure it looks good when brand new and cherry picked for the review.

This van is about as surreal as a sci-fi movie prop.

2:57 lining up those taillights is so satisfying, even though I'm very over full-width light pipes and floating roof motifs.

Brilliant, love the review.. China auto makers are certainly exploring it's boundary with their designs..

I absolutely love the way this MPV looks - the fewer lines you need to describe the shape of a vehicle, the purer the design is. I so wish they bring it to the EU/Sweden, so I may enjoy seeing these to break up the monotony of all these pointless SUVs (that only are big on the outside...)

I LOVE this! I'm a very big minivan enthusiast, and its design although also besides the frontlights, reminiscent of the amazing Staria cannot not remind me of the OG Rénault Éspace, for which I LOVE the three gens! It is SO peculiar!

beautiful design for a utilitarian vehicle. Sleek, modern, original, efficient. Also, pricey. Perhaps not perfect, but an impressive package. I'm sure they'll sell a ton.

Unfortunately, it’s competitors in china claim that it looks like a coffin. They hired internet influencers to make it looks bad. It doesn’t sell well now😢

ROFL, I LOVE this thing. I can see thing sell well with that 80,000 price tag.

2:30 I feel it looks like none of those things. It's just really really simple and clean. And that's fine, if unimaginitve. The lights are just straight. Neutral interms of their expression. Take a look at Arrical, Canoo, Lightyear, all of them use this style. It's just what's trendy at the moment. What is interesting about this design is how far down the roof slopes towards the back. That gives it quite a unique proprtion which I find really cool.

Your presenting is brilliant mate, hilarious digs here and there are spot on 🤣 keep up the good work. This channel gonna be huge one day

I saw one in Shanghai on a test drive at the weekend. looks interesting and ne great detail is the speedo on the steering wheel. anyway, having tried the X9 and given it is a third cheaper I guess that is better value

It’s a beautiful van and I can see them being able to get the price way down by removing a lot of the features and still keeping it very well equipped.

I was just thinking about the first Robocop movie. This van would fit in perfectly. Reckon officer Murphy would approved:)

Instantly reminded me of the Hyundai Staria or older Renaul Espace that are a weird looking thing around all the euro vans I know :) All the shown and mentioned cars in this video could be thrown into Cyberpunk no problem :)

The robotic face looks fab; far better than most all garish and over elaborated front end designs so common today. You showed the Yangwang U8 pebble like car key recently, saying it had inspired that car's design. It'd be much more fitting to Li Auto MEGA.

I had a Renault Espace III JE from 2002 as my 1st and last car. The Mega would be a worthy successor :) I´d remove all seats behind the 2 front ones and put my bicycle and E-Scooter in the trunk.

Li Auto should do an US market version and call in..MAGA..and make it Gold trim inside out…no way Trump won’t make an exception for a Chinese EV like that..

Detroit has a BYD Seagull and they are currently taking the car apart to study it. True....look it up.

@@daniel-ino that's harsh claim considering I've seen NIOs info and its still superb. Nothing is perfect. But China has managed to get head to head with Tesla and Waymo. IMHO Waymo is the best info cluster.

This vehicle's design would be so futuristic in the 1980's!

The all the pillars of this van is thick. Visibility issues? Mega looks futuristic.

Put it into wind tunnel to get the blow data and optimize the shape a bit. It can be better. But generally I like it better than others.

I like the design, this should be the cybertruck. Without the stainless steel, slightly better aerodynamics and with the 500kW charging power.

I've always been a bit annoyed with this car company with their internal combustion engines to extend the range. However, this is a huge change and a New Beginning. there is something wrong, the digital rear-view camera have 2 models,which means you can shift to normal rear-view mirror.the second about the inch of HUD, its bigger than L9(13,35inch) which is 16.06inch.

Talking about dystopian design, this mpv reminds me of the martian taxi from total recall

I am kind of a tesla fan too but after seeing this, I wonder Tesla think if they really have a good design team or not. This vehicle's design is gorgeous.

3:45 BTW, why do EVs in China have two separate plugs for AC and DC charging instead of one combined plug for both, like European CCS or NACS?

Both are GB/T but its AC looks like a revised version of type2 while its DC is similar to chademo

Wish it could be available in the NA market...

and you cant use your phone while driving. I hope it has self service/fixing feature bcs it will brake eventualy and there are tons of Li Auto certifed repair shops around..

Despite its polarizing design, I think few can deny that it is an impressive overall package regardless.

Great tech. Ideal family car. Zeekr 009 has more range and a more conservative design. Would you prefer it over the mega? I hope they will bring it to europe. Western manufacturers are nowhere in this market.

This thing would be an outstanding hit on global markets. Especially in the US and Europe. A shame thaht politics keeps consumers from enjoying such amazing technology.

I love how the global, or let’s say western viewer predominantly see this design quite positively, while the actual consumers in China do not like this design at all.
