LGF 162 Pt. 1: Road to the Sea!

FEATURED LOCATION: Hawai'i Island shoreline.
FEATURED SPECIES: Giant Trevally.
Part 1 of 2
Worldwide, anglers challenge these ocean apex predators known as "GT" (Giant Trevally). In Hawaii, GTs are known as "Ulua".
This fishing passion is big time in Hawaii! Our method for this kind of fishing is known as "Slide Bait". Specific gear is necessary. Local fishing knowledge and experience is essential.
We are fishing an area some refer to as Smoking Rock. It's remote. The ocean is rough and the rocks are slippery.
But the guys we're with are familiar with these fishing grounds and they are used to hooking up with big fish. This trip was no exception!
