Awesome video and perfect camera angles. One of the best! Only part missing is which side of the belt faces the drum vs pulley. Thanks for an amazing video!

Followed this exactly and it was easy and complete. While I was in there I replaced the thermostat, the thermo fuse and the thermistor. One thing that surprised me was the amount of lint inside the dryer, especially on top of the heater housing where it was scorched.

Yes, there seems to be lint everywhere when you go to take apart a dryer! Glad our video was helpful!

Any tips on testing the Thermistor to verify it is bad or good?

Im sure you've solved it by now, but for future readers: Test it with an ohmmeter. It should change resistance depending on the temp. If it doesnt, or it's open the whole time, its bad.

How do I tell if the thermistor is why I am getting no heat or if it’s another problem?

  • @FixDotCom

Thermistor can be checked with a multimeter, should read around 1K at room temp, use your meter on continuity with the thermistor disconnected from the rest of the dryer. See what reading your getting, hold the probe end in your fingers tightly and you should see the resistance change and go back when you release it. No no heat I be likely to be checking continuity on the element and other thermostats. If its an electric dryer check your fuse panel in the home to be sure you have 220v going to the dryer, most electric dryers will run but not heat on only one fuse. Good luck

🔵YOU PRACTICALLY HAVE TO TAKE APART THE WHOLE DRYER TO REPLACE THE THERMISTOR WHEN ALL THEY HAD TO DO WHEN THEY BUILT THIS DRYER WAS BUILT A REMOVABLE ACCESS PANEL AT THE LOWER REAR OF THE DRYER LIKE WHIRPOOL DRYERS, THAT WAY IS ASSESIBLE TO INSPECT AND REPLACE THE COMPONETS, HEATER, MOTOR, ETC WITHOUT DISASSEMBLING THE WHOLE DRYER..🔴
