    You can access the thermistor & limit switch through the vent access on the back. Remove 1 screw & the vent tube assembly pulls straight out giving you access, you may want to tilt the dryer on it's front to make access easier.

    We have a 2009 Samsung DV337 dryer that mysteriously stopped running after a few minutes and the display lights completely went out. Our machine was making louder noises than usual and when started back up it would turn on but stop with no lights again after a few minutes. After reviewing this this video, I thought that it might be the thermistor and followed the instructions to check it. While our model did not match the video exactly, the process was very similar. Once I removed the front panel, the blower assembly was easy to access and the fan was partially filled with linen debris which was causing the blower to be impeded shutting the dryer down. After cleaning the assembly and reassembling the dryer, it works like new and is much quieter. Thank you to the Repair Clinic for the video, it helped us save the costs of a new dryer and our 8 year old machines continues to operate well Thank you Samsung!

    Excellent, detailed video. Removing the drum and getting it back in correctly is the most stressful part for sure. Be careful with the belt and with lining up the pulley beneath. Mine had lint covering the thermistor. I actually started with the heating element and fuse, but that didn’t work. Debated giving up when I saw the whole drum had to come out to change thermistor, but went for it, felt confident with this video, and got it fixed! Thank you.

    THANK YOU FOR THIS VIDEO!! I actually have a dv350aer/xaa but just about every single step in this video was relevant. If you have a similar Samsung dryer that is not heating, I would highly recommend trying to fix it yourself by changing out the thermister via this video. (Thermistors are cheap on Amazon, got mine for $9 and this saves on having the call out fee of $60-$100 dollars.) One other note, my spring fell off the pulley wheel where the belt attaches to so it took me a while to figure out why the belt was so loose.

    This is an easy repair for do it yourselfer's. I have a slightly different model and changed the thermistor and temperature sensor in about 1 hour. (DC32-00007A, 1 DC47-00016A- parts about $25). They are accessible without removing the rum and the on a removable panel so you can cleanout accumulated material or clogs from the discharge low point. Probably saved $200 on a service call. My Samsung dryer won't heat suddenly. No blockages, heating element and sensor resistances (3) all essentially zero. Thermistor gives 5600 ohms. Service repairman circuit diagram/cheat sheet said it should be 10K, just like below. I did disconnect lead and still got 5600. Cheat sheet said something about a "membrane relay". There is a heater relay in the main board, don't know how to test. Any thoughts?

  • @repairclinic

    @repairclinic

    10 жыл бұрын

    Michael Kinnaird To test the heater relay you will need to look at the wiring diagram and figure out which wire is coming out of the control board for that relay. Run the dryer and see if you have power out of that wire. The problem with that is if the sensor is bad it may not call for heat. I would double check all the other components first. Make sure you don’t have a burnt wire on the incoming power terminal block. The heating element is the only part that requires 220 volts to operate. Hope this helps.

    Try testing all the parts by the heating element, the thermostat, the thermostat assembly bracket, the heating element, (you can purchase all of these along with the housing all together for less than 50 on amazon which is less than it cost separately and less work to install. The other issue it can be is a burned out wire. I had to fix this twice because I had no idea it could be related to the thermistor. Maybe if i fixed that first, I wouldn't have had these other issues, but you live and learn i guess. The first time my thermostat was busted, so i replaced that, two weeks later it was a burned wire from the thermostat, all related to the thermistor not working. so yeah, fix that first if you are ahead of the game you will save yourself a lot of trouble and money. DIY as these are easy fixes that a housewife with no prior experience can fix. Also It will save you hundreds in a service call if your dryer is not under warranty and while you have the dryer all out like that you can replace the maintenance parts like the wheels, clean out the lint and change the belt and the arm wheel assembly all together these are inexpensive and needs to be replaced every 2-3 years OR when you hear a lot of loud noises coming from your dryer. my problem started when I washed and dried a pillow that was suppose to be natural bamboo. UGGHH!

  • @repairclinic

    @repairclinic

    10 жыл бұрын

    Thermistors do not go bad that often. If lint is caught on the thermistor it will not cycle the heat properly. A thermistor will usually show open or shorted to be bad. If your venting is clear and the element and limits are ok you can try the thermistor.

  • @repairclinic

    @repairclinic

    9 жыл бұрын

    Stephen Overton It should be located in the same area on gas or electric. Thermistors are often misdiagnosed on dryers and generally do not cause a no heat situation. A good thermistor normally reads about 10,000 ohms at room temperature so you need to have your meter set on the correct scale or you won’t get any reading at all. Please visit our website for additional repair help information on this dryer.
