Lezyne Zecto Alert and KTV Alert function and comparison

Спорт

For 2021 Lezyne LED have the option of the "Alert" function on the rear lights they produce. This option adds £5 to the RRP of each light. Links to my full review below.
The Alert function uses accelerometers and functions in 2 ways. Firstly, upon braking or slowly down the light should go constant and bright.
Then once stopped it will flash brightly in a different manner to all other flash settings.
In order to test the lights and see the function working for myself I had a vehicle travel behind me while performing a set loop.
At the end of the video there is also a full run through of all modes that each light has to compare.

Outstanding comparison video. I love real world testing to reveal actual differences in comparable products. Though I don't see a personal need for the alert feature, the Zecto seemed to win the visibility test in every mode. Bright winter sun at low angles with lots of shadows is my biggest fear during winter. Even with 80 lumens it would be easy for a distracted driver to miss a bicycle under those conditions.

Pretty much, although it lacks much in the way of sideways visibility which the KTV does have.

I have been using Lezyne Zecto Drive 250L fro 4 years and it has performed great. with about 1000 charges it is still performing as new. I bought the new model with 400 lumens but to my disappointment it is less powerful than the old 250 lumens which I have. I returned it and bought the old model, don't understand these fake claims.

Gee I’m impressed with the Zecto Alert Drive visibility. Is it to do with the 3 lenses perhaps? The pattern is eye catching. I’m a bus driver and I see a lot of lights that don’t really work in the regard. This one m, however, I’m going to take a closer look at.

I have the KTV Alert 75 Pro and im very happy with it except for battery seems to run out a little too fast sometimes. Otherwise it's very cool braking light. Makes my mtb feel like a motocross 😂

Not sure why Lezyne decreased the lumen output of the Zecto line when they came out with the Alert function. I have the Zecto Max 250 and as far as visibility goes...it’s a great light day and night. Also have the Strip Drive Alert Pro 300...which is also nice in that they kept the lumen output while adding the Alert feature. Hopefully the Zecto Max 250 will have the Alert feature added soon.

Which one do you prefer between Strip Drive Alert Pro 300 and Zecto Max 250? Probably gonna buy one of the two, those lights are great !
