Indeed they are, the only difference between the 2016-2021 is the 2021 offers an additional color.

2018 got a new set of backup lights and an LTE modem so Enform still works. Guess who knows this based on owning a 2017…

@@kingofallkarens So if you look at the pre-refresh model before 2016, the backup lights were these big chunky reflectors. They maintained that license plate frame assembly up until 2018, where they changed it to have little slivers of LED lights. It's been my experience when there's any mist or even if the backup light lens is clean, you will get reflections from those big chunky lights when backing up at night, and the problem is way worse in the rain, or if you're like me and replace the factory incandescent bulbs with high output LEDs. If your backup camera is marred or have some hard deposits on it of course the problem is way worse. 2018+ has this nice new modern license plate assembly with integrated LED slivers, and these work much better. This part costs of $1500, so naturally I went to Ali Express and got a cheap chinese knockoff that you can't differentiate at 5 feet, but if you look closely you can see all the cut corners. The part cost me $150 so I can keep replacing it over 10 years and still come out ahead, haha! I'm bitter because I pushed myself into buying an LX during the height of the car craze in 2021, thinking it would only get worse, as the Land Cruiser was discontinued but of course all this thinking is stupid on a depreciating asset on an unpopular car. Sorry for the essay, quick answer GLARE from the backup lights pre-2018...

I'm literally on the cusp of buying a 2016 model. Is it worth it? The one I'm looking at has 90k miles on it.

Just sold my gen 2 raptor and bought an Lx. Less than 20k miles on the raptor and it was in the shop every 1000k miles🤬 No the LX doesn't put a smile on my face like driving the raptor did. But you can't beat its reliability, resale and lexus service. And ford service was Hot garbage!

@@lorddrake8566 I'm still loving my LX. But also went and bought a 2000 landcruiser and built it out. Couple of my friends have new Broncos. I'm personally not feeling them. But I understand why people do, especially raptor bronco.

Just a reminder no lane keep assist in this generation, only lane departure warning. The LX600 has electronic steering over the hydraulic the previous generations have. I enjoy my 2017 but wish I waited for 2018 to not have the 3G modem and updated rear backup LED lights.

Do you know if it beeps if there is someone in your blind spot, and you turn the signal light on?

@@putt230 To my knowledge, it does not beep, it only flashes if you have the blinker on and a vehicle is detected. The system does beep when you are backing up and it detects someone coming from the right or left (RCTA). I actually went into the manual to check, it's on page 366, haha!

The LX570 and the Land Cruiser are essentially the same vehicle underneath BUT the Land Cruiser is littered with cheap a plastic interior whereas the LX570 is luxurious and plush. You're NOT getting the same vehicle New (LC) vs Used (LX). You are not just paying for the name as stated on Ben's review. You're getting a lot more with the Lexus.

I don't believe the Land Cruiser has the AHC suspension, it uses KDSS, only the LX has the AHC.

In the North American market, the LC200 comes with KDSS and LX570 comes with AHC. However, you can get either KDSS or AHC with the rest of the world LC200. Previous generation LC100 can be optioned with AHC for 06-07 models. Most if not all LX470 comes with AHC.

It's 383 HP and 403 lb-ft of torque for the LX.. The extra 2 for each is prolly because of the premium gas recommendation by Lexus.

Your paying for all that leather and AHC and the impeccable service if you maintain it properly - the Toyota your paying for the name LC - The Lexus is a much nicer rig. Definitely a much better value in the market. My 2016Lx with 50k has everything you could ever want on and off-road and payed much less than a comparable LC .

Hey Ben can you compare this car to LandCruiser and Mercedes G63 I take your opinion seriously

@@ShowemRight yeah I know it’s a disaster for some new owner dealing with recalls & vehicle malfunction but it’s not a surprise because it’s first year model these things can happen.

In terms of quietness and conformity, and reliability nothing beats Lexus. I have driven BMW, Audi, Rang Rover, Mercedes ... you name it, and all offer superior interior design, fantastic acceleration, and sporty feeling, but at 50k+ miles all start showing issues and you cannot have a soft conversation with inside the car while traveling on a highway.

How many Price??

The Land Cruiser does not have adjustable suspension like the LX570. Totally different suspension between the two

Still going to lose 50-55% of value within first five years. You buy one after you get all the same features but have already lost most the depreciation and get to own a vehicle that will lose very little value over the next five years. But I do agree if you are going to buy new Toyota and Lexus are the ones to buy! Love my lx570!!!

@@KhyeefI wish it were true there are 2017 and 2018 ones selling for 75k and beat up. Dealer won’t come down as they know someone will come along and pay, they will just keep it on the lot for months.

@@Khyeef I also did a lot of shopping and ended up paying 75% of the value of a 2017 LX in 2021, it was certified so I did manage to get some of that money back forcing the dealer to do some big repairs but still. Even now in fall of 2023 a 2020 LX is selling over 60k when it was 95k new.
