after that injury and then his return Pedri Ain’t No Starter For Me No More RN oddly too much pressure as effect so-and-so should be our important second half player tho

Pedri was again so sluggish on the ball, losing balls easily, which put us under unnecessary pressure. Again, no word on that

You're being too harsh on Pedri there, let me explain why I think so. If we look at the number of times a Barca player was dispossessed the stats are as follows. Pedri 10 times, Gundogan 13 times, Lewandowski 12 times, Lamine 14 times, Frenkie 5 times, Christensen 7 times, Kounde 12 times, Cancelo 12 times, Araujo 8 times and Inigo 8 times. Looking at these numbers you'll realize that it says more about how and where Napoli were pressing. The Barca players who frequently went into forward areas all lost the ball 10+ times. Of those players who lost the ball 10 plus times, Pedri was the least dispossessed. Considering how long he was on the pitch he was only dispossessed once every 8 minutes or so on average, which is not bad. My concern though would be that Pedri only had about 56 touches, I mean sure one was an assist, but Barca should be working a lot harder to get him on the ball especially since when Pedri plays well, so does Lewandowski. P.S: when I was looking at our possession lost stats my bp shot up because watching the game it didn't feel like Barca were losing possession so much, then I saw Napoli's stats and they had guys who lost the ball 22 times, 18 times... So I guess it was a somewhat blizzard game in that regard 😂

@@straightouttazambia2835 you’re right. Pedri was not our worst player. Other players lost balls too. I wouldn’t put Lamine in there with them, as most of the balls he lost was when he was actually trying to produce something up front. At least half of the balls Pedri lost were in our own half. And his body language was really sluggish. But the most important reason for me pointing this out, is that it seems like Pedri is the only one above criticism on this channel.

he just needed to be subbed off , he obviously can’t play a full 90 and xavi is using him to the ground. pedri should’ve been off at like the 60th minute for joao felix or fermin to reignite play. even if you watch the goal napoli scored pedri should’ve pressed but he can’t cause he’s tired. xavi has a terrible habit of making subs reactively instead of proactively

It’s also a lot of times in stupid situations like in transition he gets the ball, lamine makes a run, pedri sees it, doesn’t make the long pass and instead tries to spin around and pass it back or to Cancelo, fails, looses the ball right in front of the own 16 yard box. Wtf is that decision making, he chooses the higher risk lower reward option a lot and it’s mind boggling. It’s similar with frenkie. He has multiple options to make a progressive pass, but decides to dribble the pressing striker only to then pass it back to a center back. Wtf is the point? Sometimes it looks like these guys want to look good in highlight reels and not play good football

I think Barca is cursed. Napoli one shot on target and it’s a goal .

Bro I don’t know what’s going on with Pedri. Not to say he was bad, but Idk it just feels like his play feels very inhibited as if you nerfed his talent by like 30%. It’s not just this game but since he got back from that injury in January. I think Fermin needs to be given more prominence in order to lessen the burden on Pedri because we can’t afford for him to be injured AGAIN this season. I just want to see the generational talent I saw at 17-18 consistently deliver like before.

Inigo is not good enough for Barca, he shouldn’t even start games, I know we are short on the back line because of Balde injury, but Barca B probably have better players than Inigo. He’s is just below average.

These guys seem cooked I can't lie, they lack an intensity in 50/50 balls and for damn sure lack concentration. I miss Gavi cause brought it in games like this. But hey thats FCB going on 5yrs

Pedri should be benched. No one should just be an automatic starter

Pedri Ghostazalez... I seriously cant stand watching Frankie play when I know how much hes making. I want to be mad at the old regime but dang! The Club of your dreams needs you to understand the sitaution when you signed that ridiculous scam of a contract. Resign and be Barca's top paid player IDC but you shouldnt be paid like the top 3 in the world. Frank you're not even in the top 10.

⁠​⁠@@TheFreeses515 Never did I excuse the contract the club gave to Frenkie, all I said that as fans we can’t pressure somebody to take a pay cut on a contract that was ALREADY previously agreed upon by both parties, the fact it was done by a different regime is irrelevant as it was an agreement between player and club. I regard Frenkie as one of the 5-7 best Midfielders in world football. That does not mean I think Frenkie should be earning 37.5m per year, your purposefully misrepresenting what I said. If Frenkie was instead earning 20m per year there should be no discussion as he is worth that amount, if you believe he is not then give me the 10 names that are superior to him and represent greater value for money that the club can realistically sign, simple.
