Listeners of a certain age will recall that, when he had his original variety show on the DuMont Television Network, the highly-talented vaudeville performer, Jackie Gleason (1916-1987), would call to the director of the pit orchestra (live musicians were employed in those bygone days) to play “*A little traveling music, if you please!*” and the orchestra would immediately go into this tune, _That’s a Plenty_ and Jackie would exit the stage with an exaggerated dance. Years later, I recalled the scene, which was repeated weekly, and I went to my local, independently owned record shop and hummed a few bars of the tune to a clerk whose name was Bob Cornfoot, and he immediately handed me an LP with Wild Bill Davidson playing it on trombone (he knew I was a brass player). After several such occasions of the clerk instantly producing, as if by magic, a recording of a tune I had just hummed, I knew that is exactly what I wanted to be when I grew up. Unfortunately, record shop clerks were/are paid minimum wage, so I had to make some money first. Once I had made investments and took early retirement, I passed myself off as a classical expert, and was hired at the same record shop. The classical room was eventually closed down, but that period was the happiest time of my life. And I owe it all to this tune.

"Steamboat Rag" is a completely different piece. (Sounds nothing like "That's-A-Plenty")
