Agreed. However I would put Fitzsimmons in that category as well, in more than just comedy. He’s a sniveling little creep who thinks he’s far more profound and interesting than he is. I’d probably rather see Shuli than Fitzsimmons on stage, and that’s pretty f’n bad

If you're Howard fan, and a Chapelle fan. This segment in hindsight is quite amazing! I remember this live. I just don't remember how long the dialogue went on between David and the crew. I'm so glad that this was posted because it went on for a lot longer than I thought and it's great! David was a big fan of the show. I can specifically point to a number of bits that came to fruition in chappelle's show and his routines. I'm not saying that he's a thief at all. Just that he was a big fan. Case in point. His whole dialogue about OJ. Chappell went on after this to have the OJ bits come up in a multitude of comedic bits he's done which are all hysterical. Looking back at this segment, as a fan of both Howard and Dave is truly a treasure.

So an Artie says that on Chappelle Show it's supposed to be like a hack comedian line, he explains it at some point better but what he's saying is he's imagining himself in the writer's room, he's not saying that the guy living in the garbage can is a hack comedian, they were saying that in the writer's room somebody envisioned that character saying a type of joke of sort of like a hack comedian. Use of words isn't great because to say hack comedian maybe a little too much, it's really just sort of like one of those old corny style Comedy Club comics et's just be real about this, Bob Levy is an absolute lunatic and Artie laying is right. When he says that's one of those old hack jokes we really means is like it's like a Jackie Martin joke. And it's not a mock against Jackie. Is the Jackie was like an encyclopedia of all those old jokes, and he could quickly think of them and do a lot of them. But a lot of those jokes are like public domain jokes, they're not like a long routine it's just like sort of a saying.

Howard completely misrepresents Kabbalah by the way. Take that for whatever you will I mean he's had two wives and both of them happen to be Jewish, which the odds of that happening are exponentially small unless he was specifically seeking out of Jewish woman, but when he says that Kabbalah is Jewish magic and people who want to feel special in all that, virtually every Orthodox Jew with almost no exception believes in the Kabbalah. It's not effective Judaism which is what he's trying to make it out to be. He could just be completely ignorant because he's sort of regurgitating the mainstream media's misrepresentation, but the Kabbalah is mainstream Orthodox judaism. It is not a sect. It's kind of like some Christians believe in baptism literally needing water and others think that you don't necessarily need the water but there needs to be some sort of baptism of the spirit, that's basically Kabbalah and Judaism. They all believe in it, the degree at which they're practicing it openly though varies. And the reason that Madonna and Britney Spears Kabbalah was so controversial is because neither of them are Jewish so they really don't like that, and the other reason is that the church in Los Angeles that popularized it sort of a fringe offshoot thing, trying to make it cool and hip to follow Kabbalah. But just keep in mind that all Orthodox Jews believe in the Kabbalah. Right by Toby a singer, I can't think of any Orthodox Jewish rabbi who I've ever followed who doesn't believe in the Kabbalah

Lol and he was in the spot he was in because he was much more funny and talented than hacks like Levy otherwise Howard wouldn't have put him there for a decade.

Levy is the worst standup comic ever. He was only useful because he could score drugs on the road for he and Artie.

Lol, Dave Chappelle would never give Artie the time of day, Artie should have had his bro Levy’s back. Artie would have ditched his “friends” in a second if it meant mainstream success.
