As a person on the spectrum, this really resonated with me. I always loved Data's whole development as a character, and to hear that other people like me also identified with his journey to become more human, was really cool.

Hell yea, that was special for me too. I've always had a problem in social situations, treating things too literal and reading peoples emotions properly and have been called a robot by people before, by my own girlfriend even :D And yea, its true, you can really realte with Data's quest on understanding all the little subtleties in human interaction.

@@BattleBladeWarrior It's really amazing that Data's character has touched so many people in the autism community; especially since I don't think they had any intention of equating Data's struggle with emotions to that of people with ASD. Hope you are finding your niche out there!

@@vagabond197979 Thanks! And yea, especially back then, that condition wasn't really in the public eye as much either, so I think it was just a happy accident that his character gave them more representation. If there was one theme for the entirety of the show, starting from the very first episode, I think next generations really did a lot to focus on the human condition, what it means to be human, the choices we make, actions we take, etc, and Data's evolution throughout the series was a perfect representation of that.

as much as I would love Brent Spiner to guest star as Data in ST:Discovery, I don't think that you could believably digitally de-age somebody on a TV-Show's budget. But now that Fuller is out, the Data cameo is probably off the table. He wanted to create an anthology series with a different crew and a different ship for every new season. I wonder if he wanted Data for season one (time travel!!) or a later season, which would be set during or after TNG.
