Letting My Apple Watch Control My Calories for 48 HOURS | OMAD + Popeyes Chicken Sandwich

Most of you know that I'm obsessed with my Apple Watch! I never take it off. I only use it to track my 10,000 steps daily but I've been asked very often how accurate is the calorie tracker? So in today's video, we're going to find out! For the next 48 hours I track all of my activity on the apple watch. Whenever I run, walk, lift weights, you name it, I turn my apple watch on.
Day 1 I try doing OMAD (one meal a day) where I make an epic chipotle bowl at the end of the day. Day 2 I eat as I go and try Popeye's chicken for the first time. It didn't disappoint!
Hope you enjoy the video! Thanks for watching!

No one may care, but I feel like I can say this here. I’ve lost 14 pounds sense July. After off and on commitment I’ve finally started my journey. I’m half way to my goal and can’t wait to get there. Gyms have been closed and my schedule just won’t let me get any sort of exercise in other than walks and bike rides. But I’ve pushed through and always track my calories. Thank you Will for teaching me this and inspiring me to push forward.

I agree these fitness trackers aren't completely accurate, but 2 days isn't nearly long enough to measure results. Your weight could've simply been up due to an increase in sodium. Try 2 weeks, not 2 days.

This device is useful. If it has inaccuracy of 15%, you can compensate that by: 1. Setting a bit lower daily calorie intake target 2. Slightly underestimate your exercise 3. Be a bit active even when you are not with your phone or watch (untracked activities) If you do all these three things, they may actually close (or damn close to it) the gap.

Pretty much none of the devices were accurate (save for I think 2), but they were all still rather consistent, meaning if they reported under or over by a certain percentage, they would always have that same percentage regardless of activity. hey will u prolly won’t see this but i did my science fair project on the apple watch mechanics and why you burn a crazy amount of calories if u start a workout. It’s in the code of conduct but it basically assumes that no movement is registered it’s as if u are taking a “brisk walk” so for my project i just went about a normal day and didn’t start any workout and burned 1400 calories (total) and then the next day i had a workout that lasted an entire day and burned 4000 calories. Just some info for you!

The reason your watch said you burned 200cal during your haircut is because when you select a workout, it estimates how many calories you’re burning based on your height and weight and doesn’t actually pull data from your heart rate. It just assumes you’re working out.

There’s so many factors to burning calories while weight training such as: supersetting, how much rest you’re taking, how fast you perform the lifts, etc. Basically the higher you keep your heart rate going, usually that means more calories burned than what’s listed

I would love to see you do another video similar to this, except do an experiment to see how accurate the Apple Watch is on calories over one or two weeks. I use my Apple Watch rigorously like you. I’d love to see exactly how accurate it is. Over a longer period of time, you can get a better idea of how your weight has changed and more accurate results to the “experiment”

@@Hellmanzzi don't know about apple watch, but with Fitbit inspire 2 my tracker overestimated so much that I gained over 20 lbs in 4 months. Now I do also lift, so I'm not sure how much of it is fat, but by looks I'd say a lot of it is. Now, i take off 1000- 1500 calories from workout day estimates and that puts me at a 1-2lb lost per week deficit.
