As a child I called Timmy luifcer, because I was convinced that Timmy was luifcer before he fell

I know they kept calling it a crown, but as a kid I thought the gift was a super fancy cupcake.

I'm kinda glad they made it where the angel lost the crown and chose to give his blanket instead as swaddling clothes, like an allegory of how those who believed the Messiah was going to come as this *high and mighty* figure, didn't at all meet their expectations, but instead arrived in a humble stable and grew up poor... That's good storytelling I can't help but admire.

These were figurines I used to see in gift shops, I didn’t know they were animated 😂 I used to call them the sad eye children

I see angel figurines

I never watched this movie, but I remember one precious moments movie about how the angels were making a rainbow. Timmy dropped the blue paint onto a sheep and it just permanently dyed him blue. And then the sheep got ostracized by the others. A very Rudolph the reindeer story.

My grandmother collected these dolls. There were like 50 of them in her house. I didn’t know they made an animated movie.

Those characters looked so familiar to me, then I looked up the name "Precious Moments" and then it hit me. I keep seeing those dang sculptures in antique stores.

Ahh I used to watch this all the time as a kid, even when it wasn't Christmas! Ended up re-watching it for the first time in almost 2 decades with my partner for Christmas 2021. Loved getting to watch it here as well with the added commentary!

I say there needs to be a Dom DeLuise movie marathon binge watch.

Maaaan I haven't seen this since I was like a pre-teen at most, maybe late single digits and all I remembered of it unprovoked was that lil bit outside the tree when the squirrel starts talking but Timmy doesn't know it's a squirrel. XD

This special is too wholesome and cute, it’s a nice Christmas Special.

I remember my mom making me watch but for some reason I kept calling the main angel luifcer. I know that wasn't his name but thats what I called him

This movie is very near and dear to my heart. My late grandmother would play it on VHS for me

I remember my babysitter recorded a bunch of christmas specials off the tv for me and my brother and sister. We watched that tape every year growing up and the two Timmy specials were part of it.

Saber, Jesus was born in Bethlehem, but yeah Herod did commit infanticide on every newborn in the town but Jesus' family escaped and fled to Egypt. It's a messed up story but I guess prophecy triumphed in the end.

Dom DeLuise is one of many ways to know your movie was made in the 80s also hummels are chibi but there not angels

OH MY GOD!!!! I REMEMBER THIS!!!!! I only remembered two clips of this film: The one where Timmy talks to the pig and the one where Timmy gives his blanket to baby Jesus. Strangely, I remember the pig having a feminine voice, the animation looked much more cheaper looking, and Timmy not having the crown. Faulty memory, am I right? Either way, I had a big as hell grin on my face while watching this film. Thanks for bringing back so many memories I forgot I had.

God! This takes me back I watched all the time before bed as a kid because it was short and my parents didn’t want me up past my bedtime

Did anyone else have a moment of panic when the title "Timmy's Gift" popped up at the start? I was afraid we were going to watch Secret of NIMH 2 again.

Freaking I loved this movie as a kid. It's so innocent and pure don't you dare hurt it!

The whole R and B cover of songs over the outro credits of an animated movie was a way of repackaging the music for adults who don't like musical theater. I think the mindset was "We think our songs are great and we want people to buy the soundtrack but adults aren't going to like the children's songs, so we'll remake the music to sound like something serious grown ups would listen to." It didn't catch on. People just wanted the songs from the movie as they were in the movie.

I had my own Precious Moments kids’ bible when I was real little. I’m not religious but I wish I never lost it. I doodled in that thing so much. 😆 Memories I could have kept had I kept it safe throughout the moves growing up.

I was thinking this looks like something I’ve seen at hallmark, and saw the precious moments in the title seems weird with how it’s laid out and realized it means the brand.

My grandparents had these figures and videos Now I miss them

Whenever I see a Precious Moments figure, I think of my dear sweet mother

This Christmas special is so adorable

Yes. There’s a sequel called Timmy’s Delivery, the First Thanksgiving, the story of Daniel and the Lion’s Den, and I think there was a zoo episode but I don’t remember what I was called. There might be more, but I only remembered those ones from KZread

what? The Crown is NOT "Gone Forever" its at the bottom of the water fall. You're not going to check to see if gold survived the impact? Its not a black hole down there. SOME THING of it still exists. and what the heck with that other bunny movie? what a tonal shift. Yes its nature and he was a bragger and kind of deserved it but like no one even tried to help him. That sort of thing is verry jarring for children.
