This video helped a ton! I got Bjorn ready to go and going to convert one of my old dreadnaughts with the axe and shield! What a sweet kit!

I totally agree that the Venerable is the statistically superior option compared to the wulfen version, but I would argue that the point difference allows the wulfen dread to be a much more point efficient axe and shield unit. Love your reasoning though.

Hey Joshua. Its also weighing the loss of access to key stratagems, and the loss of buffs. Tips the scale a bit I think, even with the points difference.

@@AnvilofWarGaming excellent point. I tend to run that dread blob you were theorizing earlier, with 2 wulfen dreads as a screen. I found the extra points from the cheaper dreads can go toward a techmarine to give heals to the shields and buffs to bjorn. Love the vid btw, you guys helped get me into this faction!

Agree Bjorn is awesome, I think the multi melta is the best value for points and the most useful. Losing the 2" on the movement really hurt but he can used as a captain/wisdom lieutenant bubble. Disagree on the wulfen dreadnaught though, it's better value for points than the vernerable and can take the double heavy flamers. The faster speed and re-rollable charges means you can just send it off on it's own, since it's not core anyway. It'll have to be dealt with or it will just cause havoc.

Even if the Wulfen Dread is your 4th or 5th pick, if you are going for a 5- or 6-dread army you are going to want to take one to stand out among the venerable dreads and give you some extra speed to deal with eldar shenanigans. Then take a couple of redemptors or contemptors for more dakka. It might be interesting to see how many you can squeeze into one semi-casual 2,000 point list, a sort of "Barrow Wight" list with an honor guard of more standard infantry (perhaps with a few standard bearers).

I have some positive experience with Wulfen Dreads, basically running Bjorn, Murder Fang, 2 Wulfen dreads with axe/shield, because pf the M8 Wulfen can take middle of the table and screen for Bjorn and Murder Fang, hose 2" additional movement helps to help them ahead of the character dreads and screen for Bjorn< Murder Fang and Iron priest.

I think it depends on the purpose of your dreads. My Wolves are primarily themed around target saturation(As well as fun, considering a Repulsor is a pretty questionable pick otherwise), so for the points, A Wulfen dread charging mid-field is a great distraction Carnifex. Especially with Njal's bubble if I decide I need to turtle the push forward. Point for point, I think the Wulfen is the most tanky in the aspect(Aside from Bjorn, but I am already maxed on my beautiful HQ viking bois)

I really like the wulfen dread with claw and shield and he can take 2x heavy flamers. Really great all round unit. But tbh i take both vens and wulfen dreads cos dreads are bloody cool

New subscriber here, I recently got a bunch of old school terminators with a bunch of different weapons. I want to convert them into wolf guard terminators but I'm not sure which path to take for a 5-man squad for a generic SW list. Do you have a preference for these or have you seen a certain loadout outperform the others? Thanks for any help and love the content!

So, probably a dumb question, but where do you get the claws for a claw/shield combo? Do you just use the murderclaws for murderfang? Or is there another box they come in?
