Using Kelly's techniques for the last four years on the lower and middle Provo rivers in Utah have put me on more BIG browns than any other techniques learned in forty years of fly fishing!. Thanks, Kelly! Slam the bank!. Pull, strip, unbelievable strike!. Man, for me. The tug is my drug!. Be still my heart!.

Kelly made me a better fisherman by showing me how to tie a Zoo Cougar for free, or so I thought… after the lesson, he told me dont mess with his system & made me buy a CORTLAND 444 full sink line, leader material, & an 8’ fast action rod. Never looked back- this was ??? 30+ years ago. Thanks again 🏴‍☠️

Great video and lots of info. I started to use sinking line after watching Kelly's video on drop shotting. And yes, you can use sinking lines on small streams. My home stream is maybe 12 feet across at it's widest spot but, with lots of deep plunges and under cut banks.

I fish the AuSable and Upper Manistee Rivers. I started using sinking lines this past season and I’ll never look back. It’s an absolute game changer! Being able to control depths in drifts is awesome! Working a streamer along a log that may be 6” at one end and 3’ at the other used to be tough, not now. Fishing under over hangs and getting to depth is no longer an issue either

I don’t use sinking line due to its texture, most sinking lines are thin diameter and stiff to the feel. Hope that airflo begins making sinking lines with better and thicker material. However for dry lines airflo my best. The feel of an airflo dry lines are unique and I believe it has to do with the polyurethane type of material use in dry lines.😊😊😊😊

Interesting ,was struggling to understand how these extremely heavy lines could be cast without overloading the rod but assume this is why you say don't false cast them. I will be trying one on a river for seatrout here in UK . The river is eighteen feet deep at high tide but can be as low as two feet at low tide with the pools maybe four to six feet. I'm using a 10ft #6 weight rod , which line would you recommend, preferably with a floating running line.

@@Madriveroutfitters Thanks for the reply! At 10:40 on the video Mr. Galloup said he uses the 200 grain on the 6wt. rod which is what I have. He must have been referring to something else. If so, what do you recommend for a 9.5' 6wt. that would perform similar to the Shovelhead? Thanks!!

Thank you very much for your answer. I am from Costa Rica. I fished a lot here what are the species of snook , want to congratulate you for your KZread channel, which is a very important tool for fishermen who are starting out in fly fishing, for example, as fishermen who live in other countries where fly fishing is not popular. I take advantage of this medium to ask you a question about your KZread channel I live in Costa Rica, a country where there are small, medium and large rivers, I generally fished in small medium rivers where there are running structures. I am very passionate about fishing for bass. I would like you to talk about that species in a program, equipment, pipette lines and flies. to be able to have a little more direct contact with you I do not know if I can send you an email to send you photos of some pesos that I have made and I would appreciate a lot a greeting on my name since I am a great admirer of you and Kevin Galloup I appreciate very much Your time and I send you a big hug from a distance, thank you very much for helping us

Ive been watching a lot of you videos and they’ve all been helpful but I was wondering if there’s a set up for trout & salmon(sockeye) or if dual species set ups are possible? P.s sorry if this a obviously dumb question.
