I am from Norway, and LOVE Israel's entry this year. I believe Eden Alene and "Set Me Free" have fans all over Europe, but Semi 1 is sooo hard that qualifying cannot be taken for granted. Fingers crossed that is does get through 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

It is easy to fall in love with Edens performance and presence 💖 The re vamp lifted the song for me. This could be the dark horse to win / make a top 5. And... I LOVE Feker Libi!!!! Feker libi is a love song for her boyfriend (whom is a blue-eyed blonde) and as she is being a dark skin type... "feker libi, tonight is our story... I'm not ashamed to love you, we have no shame"... Set me free can be taken to many directions (covid19, a sad break up, etc.). Ppl say it's not that good of a song - wtf??? It's a killer bop! It's a catchy, memorable tune!! It has some killer bass in it!!! And it has Eden's amazing pure voice!!!! And with her bursting character and charisma- she WILL SLAY that stage, she WILL qualify, and if staging will be good, it CAN BE a potential Winner!

Only the news this morning, I read that Eden had made it into the finals. I don't generally follow Eurovision, but I've loved Elena ever since she won the local singing competition in 2017 (at 17!) and felt so bad for her last year when the Eurovision contest was cancelled. But I think this year's song is way better, and - my goodness! - does she hit all the notes. Everything about her is excellent. Thank you for your review. It was spot on.

Wow, Eden Alene is so beautiful and charming (and has a wee cheeky twinkle in her eyes ;) Will bring it live, as she has already proven with "Feker Libi". Sure, those whistle notes are impressive and a fun gimmick (maybe not so much in dogs' ears.. :), but not necessary for the quality of the song. I loved the old version of "Set Me Free" too, and would rank it in my top ten. Prefer it to 2020, although "Feker Libi" is great too. Eden deserves a place in the final, and a high position on the score board in the grand final. GO ISRAEL 🇮🇱🇮🇱🇮🇱

Glad you added the song from the last year. Its mixing Eden's Etyopian tradition (lyrics, dancing!), and also same verse in Arabic and Hebrew and English.. The problem is the damn politics that took Eden's chance's to win.

Unpopular opinion incoming: this revamp is bad. Feker Libi gets 5/10 for a good song composition with some weak electronic samples here and there Set Me Free gets 6/10: generic but with consistent and organic sound Set Me Free (Revamp) 2/10: very bad/cheap electronic samples, lots of unnecessary layers, lots of voice effects, The whistled notes are the only element that make the song memorable and I associate those with a cry for help really. As a musician, I'm really disappointed by this revamp. It had an excellent bass line elevating the whole song in OG and in this they didn't even bother using a different sample for guitar and bass... meaning where is the bass? It lacks on so many fields I could continue like this for hours. Those samples are just awful. Tell me there is no way to make it 100 times better between 2:15 and 2:35 in the official revamp video. Anyway, I don't hate it. I just think this revamp was a bad decision. I'm fine with that, it happens often in ESC. What I am the most concerned about is that I see no one having the same reaction as me towards it and I'd like to understand why

And that's fair! If it's not for you, it's not for you. There are probably lots of people who don't really like the song, or at least the revamp. I can imagine if they didn't enjoy the first version, they wouldn't really be searching for the updated one. I get you have to look at it from a technical point of view. That is a gift and a curse. I do the same for performance and staging. Maybe we both need to chill out and just be in the moment 😆 I think give it a few more listens, if it's still not for you, then at least you've got the original. I'm sure there are plenty of other entries you like this year though, Ukraine, Finland or Azerbaijan maybe?

@@JarydReacts Now that's the reply I needed! I indeed look at music mostly on a technical point of view. Nothing new from a metalhead I guess. Enough to say my kind of staging is just concert like and filled with lots of energy therefore not something I look to deeply into. So yeah I totally agree with it being a gift and a curse. I like very much those 3 entries you mentioned. Top 4: Switzerland, Greece, Finland, Russia. Thanks for your reply, I watch a lot of different reactors and sometimes I just want to blow off some steam and it ended up here. Looking forward to your next reactions. I'll probably stay still for a moment now
