Let's Play Hardspace: Shipbreaker - (2) Using The Whole Buffalo

Ойындар

Hardspace: Shipbreaker Gameplay / Let's Play. Mission 2 - Using The Whole Buffalo. The training ship has a behavioral differences to not over complicate things. In this episode we learn how to dismantle a whole empty ship. Unfortunately, this can lead to a bit of frustration when trying to learn all the mechanics. Regardless, this episode is longer to learn how to cut and where to cut with which tool. We also learn that there is a gravitational pull with our repositories. Something to be aware of if we're ever flung towards one.

If you think something is moveable then it probably is with your tethers

You are exactly right! Just early on this is chancing a tether when you have so few. Mistakes with so few tethers lead to a trip back to the base to purchase more, and possibly O2. The grapple gun really has extreme force limits starting out, that's part of the issue as well. Just doing a test blast on a bigger mass can send you sailing towards the furnace. Thing I've noticed with this is if you can grapple it, a movable object typically has blue markers across it. Alternatively, tether and be ready to cancel rather than drag a huge mass towards the repository (furnace is HUNGRY)... Or throw your body into it to see if it moves from thruster power (I find this effective). Honestly, most of this video was learning mechanics in advance before dealing with 15 minute shifts with nearly $600k upkeep per run, limited thruster fuel, limited O2, and limited tethers (not to mention repairs on un-upgraded equipment). Unfortunately, the learning was a bit painful/frustrating. But the next one in the series will show that this paid off... well, once it is rendered.

Hmmm, from what I can see you could have spent much less time taking apart the ship if you used the Stinger head correctly. The large hull plates are connected to the ship by an almost super-thin framework of sorts, not just the connection points behind them. If the Stinger can vaporize specific large connectors, it can probably vape the thinner framework and free the larger plating and such without having to cut it and likely damaging its value too much.

You are dead on correct. I neglected the stinger. Looking back on this is a bit painful, but I realize that I did not use the right approach on some areas. Gotta learn by pushing through it sometimes :)
