Let's Install Some Automatic Waterers in the Chicken Tractor!!! Little Giant AutomaticPoultry Founts

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

In this video I go over how I went about installing automatic waterers in my big chicken tractor. These are made by Little Giant and I installed 4 total for this system. Each waterer is rated for up to 150 chickens & I will only have around 170-180 birds in the chicken tractor at a time. This should drastically help with my daily chores by not having to tote a water out 2 times a day every time.
Here are a list of supplies that I used for this project. I will provide affiliate links to the items I used. You will need to determine how many of each part you will need to make this work for your scenario. The PVC parts would be easiest to source from your local hardware store but I will link what I can find on Amazon as well in case you find that easier.

Genius. Absolutely 🆒 and a timesaver, cleaner water leads to healthier chickens. You seem so relieved.

Thanks! Yes very much so. It’s hard keeping up with all of my projects, businesses, young family, and everything else I get myself into! Projects like these make life so much easier! 😁

I have had an automatic water system on my chickens for at least 5 years now. It is such a time saver. I've also installed an automatic misting system since it gets to be over a hundred degrees where I am in California

That’s awesome! I would have to agree. I’ve my cows, pigs, and now chickens all on automatic water now. Huge difference! You have any suggestions on the misting system or where to buy parts? It’s not something I really have to have but I wouldn’t mind doing it eventually. We occasionally have heat index’s that’ll get over 100.

@michaelstrahl My husband and I actually our own channel and we have the video on making the mister system. It's JK Feather Ranch and we posted it a little bit ago. The mystery system is temperature triggered so as soon as it hits 95 degrees the system turns on so you don't have to worry about not being home if the temperature sudden spikes and you don't have to worry about overwatering since as soon as it's cool enough the system shuts off.

Looks great. Not sure where you are located but what are your plans for the winter and freezing temperatures?

Thanks! I’m in Indiana. I only raise meatbirds from late March to beginning of October. Freezing won’t be an issue for because I’ll be done before then. I’ll just make sure the line is drained and probably bring the waterers in out of the weather. I plan to bring my layer flock into my greenhouse this winter. Still working on that plan but that should eliminate all of my water freezing issues completely at that point!
