Let's chop my BIG Epipremnum Marble Queen Moss Pole! | Growing Big Leaves!

#mosspole #bigleaves #pothosplant
It's finally come time to chop my big epipremnum Marble Queen Moss pole. She has reached the top of her pole so I'm chopping her in half to extend on top to continue growing large leaves. This moss pole is on plastic so I'm slowly transferring all my moss poles to wire for more stability.

    I can’t wait to see how much bigger those leafs get. It’s already by far the largest leafs I’ve seen on a marble queen.

    I was really thinking she was being overdramatic about chopping the moss pole...i mean...its just a pole...until i saw the plant got chopped as well...was not expecting that. I just figured the plant would be detached and reattached to be more suitable pole...interesting

    As always I admire your approach to your projects. You approach tasks with planning, focus and positive emotion. I think the nervousness you talk about is a positive attribute because it shows care and dedication to the task at hand and your high standards are commendable as well. Very nice job. The pre-chop height of the pole in this video looked to be as tall as I am, 6-6 in my younger days more like 6-5 now. Thanks for this video.

    The leaves are so beautiful! I have an idea.. couldn’t you just cut the plastic off around the roots and moss (yes it will be time consuming lol) keep the roots and moss attached then put the wire around the moss/roots and zip tie it together? You wouldn’t have to chop anything again. I just recently did something similar with my Philodendron Milano. I was able to take it off the old pole and put it on another without chopping anything. Just cut the plastic off and around the aerial roots and moss!

    If you don't like plastic poles and prefer wire because they hold the plant better then why Growthiccly? Aren't theirs plastic? Asking because I ordered 5 poles and am so excited to start my plants on them!! ❤

    I have thiccly poles and I wouldn’t use it for a plan like this that can get big and heavy. I use mine for my Monstera Standleyana and Adansonii since they don’t grow as heavy

  • @plantsbymelissa

    @plantsbymelissa

    Жыл бұрын

    I love the thiccly poles! They’re pretty new to me and I’m excited to see how they do long term. I’m trying to put plants on them that don’t grow as big. I’m not saying down the road I may regret having placed one on them but time will tell I guess. I absolutely love how moist they stay for me in my space and the clear design. I don’t get any commission for suggesting them I truly do love them so far. Plant care and growing plants is all about learning and growing from my experiences and I definitely know the plastic netting I won’t use again. If I didn’t make those mistakes then I won’t know what I know today but if I can help someone else make a better decision learning about starting plants on poles then that definitely makes me happy!

  • @plantsbymelissa

    @plantsbymelissa

    Thank you! The wire poles are pretty sturdy! The bigger leaves up top can cause them to get a little top heavy so using a stake helps and having a heavier pot on the bottom stabilizes it some more ☺️

    I haven’t had to deal with that yet lol. They would probably go dry honestly. I was just wondering, what if you laid it dow and cut the pole all up the back, pulled out the moss and tried to gently pull the roots through? I’d be really curious to try that. I also have the plastic poles and didn’t realize how flimsy they would be. 🤔

  • @plantsbymelissa

    You can’t really place them back inside of a new pole. It honestly would take so long and you’ll stress the plant out more of you mess with the roots too much 😊
