Let's Build The Last Soviet KV-2 (Tamiya 1/48)
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
My friends, when someone says "a quick, laid back build" I think "Tamiya 1/48 scale armor". This KV-2 has been waiting in my stash for a couple of years and it's the perfect candidate for a relaxed project!

there's really such a charm to unpainted models. I really love how they look. Amazing job as per usual :3

Seeing all of the colors of the different materials together looks so satisfying.
Crazy how this tank actually existed. The first time i saw a picture of a KV-2, i thought it was concept art for some game, no way something that funky looking existed once

The turret was so heavy on the KV-2 that they couldn't rotate it if the tank was at too steep an angle.

I know I would be smart enough not to make a tank that struggles to rotate its turret.@@goddoesnotexist5688

uncle nightshift lighting up the weekend
The friday uploads are always a joy! Ever thought of doing scale models of non-military vehicles? I think rally cars would definitely be right up your alley, especially with all the weathering and mud you could apply to one.

I'd like to see him build one of those old Rolls-Royce armoured cars.

I’d hope he’d make a kit of the porshe 953 the rally dude’s one that I forgot the name of
I love it when you make Soviet Tanks! Great Video!
3:11 lmao I was not expecting a Limp Bizkit reference!
Ah yes. The king of derp. Or aka the death fridge. Stored with cool vodka in the back of it’s turret. And a 152mm boom stick. I’m so happy to see you finally do this beast.
love the limp biscuit reference
Last thing i expected to hear - Break Stuff reference, nice one Uncle
Incredible as always! Also, this Limp Bizkit reference - you truly are a man of culture!
I was not prepared for that limp bizkit reference
I should have added - the geometry of the ground pointed tip of the hypodermic needle is what lets it cut a true round hole more like a cross between a reamer and a D bit drill rather than not so round hole that a twist drill makes and it will also not "grab" the plastic like twist drill does.
Thank you , Uncle Martin . 🐺
This is what i have been waiting for long
KV-2 with Uncle Nightshift? Hells' yeah!
The KV-2's massive turret just seems to shout, "hey, here I am!"
As someone who's modified quite a lot of Games Workshop minis in the past, my advice for Greenstuff is that you wet your tools slightly before using it, it helps quite a bit when shaping it.

Now I want NS to build a Leman Russ tank!
I love your videos, I’ve used so many of your tips and other tutorials on my own tank models, I’ve always wanted to see someone of your talent take on a plane or warship sometime, anyways keep it up Night Shift!
Good to get back to this channel, have watched in a while.
You inspired me to finish my old Zvezda's KV-1 😄
I ❤ the limp bizkit reference 😂
plasmo and night shift upladed in one day!!
Nice Build!
2006 felt like yesterday... nice way of making me feel old
glad to see a company from my home state is sponsoring you!
This tank looks orky. Thank you, uncle!
Woohoo. Friday, 1 hour of of the work week left and a new vid from uncle night shift. Great way to start a weekend
Michigan companies represent!
My favourite tank Thank u
Just STRAIGHT-UP Amazing Work Uncle NS, Have a Blessed Wknd 👍👍 Gary.
Yes, on time this week
Ah yes, the Soviet Armoured Fridge, bane of an entire panzer company. Great to see another video from you, Uncle Nightshift. I really respect your craft and the effort you put into it.
Adore the KV-2, perfect for turning anything to rubble - bunkers, enemy armor, doesn’t matter, 152mm howitzer will do that.
Nice simple build. As usual a grat job. I love it.
Looks really good!
Great build 👍👍
This is going to be a fun series! I hope the renovations went well, nice job on the modifications! Keeping it simple, but perfectly executed. Nice work!
Geez dude I LOVE your builds, keep it up you’re awesome!
keep up the amazing work!!!
Uncle Night Shift just made a Limp Bizkit reference, I'm not sure what timeline this is but it just got better.
Dear martin, Outstanding tutorial - thank you! Best Wishes Johnny
Wonderful job as always, love your 'traditionnal mixture'...Superb and realistic!
This was one of my first models, I was probably 10 years old… Now here I am watching a pro building the same model 🤣 such a nice callback seeing it.
That's a beautiful build already without paint. You do the KV-2 justice
Thank you so much, you were one of my great push to get into model building, and now im currently painting a small m3 lee while watching. I always enjoy your content, keep it up :)
I appreciate how you always make them interesting 🤔😁❤️
Thank you. Was looking for something relaxing to watch before writing my exam. Perfect timing!!
Oh yeah... This will be gooood!
Fantastic video again, thanks for the inspiration 🇭🇲👍
Greetings Night Shift, that little monster has turned out perfectly, looking forward to the painting episode, best regards mate, from Australia.
I have been binging your videos as I work on my models, I love the insane amounts of detail you are able to make while I barely make a half decent model.
Just started driving one of these in Warthunder only last night! Timely 👌
Can't wait for the painting stuff. I always have some problems with painting, but I like to watch others do it nontheless.
Your attention to detail on a 1/48 scale model is impressive.
Thank you
Hey nightshift! When will you make a diorama for the T-55? You should make it run over a mini 1/48 car!
You’re truly a professional sir
"How many modifications would you like?" -Yes
Look awesome, even without paint. Al the best for You! ;)
Nice job on the build, I always liked the soviet tanks
great vid on how quickly you did this! alot of viewers(myself included) sit on kits and rarely build.
One of my favourite tanks, hope to see a full diorama.
That's a very nice result. There was another company that used diecast hulls many years ago. May have been 1/72 Dragon. Can't remember. But, I am going to file that putty recipe away and use it myself. Great job!
Perspective is a funny thing. I was 28 in 2006 😁 As usual great job!!
3:10 im this old to get the limp bizkit reference ^^
You should try to paint a thunderhawk gun ship bro it’s full of detail
Would love a video of all the tools you use for hobby model-kit building! I would love to see your tools and suggestions for new builders - thank you
Who knew quickies were just as enjoyable as the regular time length🤣
Very nice👍
Loved it
it's beautiful
Really looking forward to your figure painting in 1/48. 👌😬
AMAZINGNES!!!
Mr. Nightshift. For me, you are the best modeler. Could you create a model so that it could not be distinguished from the real one? It's just that all the models seem to be toys anyway, and the eye sees the difference. Is it the effects, the size, or how to create this feeling? You have already called a revolution in the field of modeling with your skills! But maybe one more =)?
Hi Night shift! Have you ever considered making/ painting an RC Tank like you do with your models?
@Eire_Aontaithe

You're from South Dakota?
Yay!! A KV-2!!
I love your god dam videos!!! Inspires me to do many new projects!!!!
For drilling 0.3mm hole try using a 30g hypodermic needle and for a pin vise you should really be using a smaller lighter weight pin vise like the Tamiya 74051 Fine Pin Vise for 0.1mm to 1mm bits. Even if you don't try the hypodermic needle, the smaller lighter weight pin vise will result in fewer broken small drill bits
The Limp Bizkit reference xD
I've been watching your content for a while now, and with each video I'm impressed more and more! The vast arrays of modeling techniques, painting methods and subtle kit-bashing is enthralling and completely grabs my attention. It's all so inspiring to me and gives me tons of ideas for things I could do in my free time. Also if you don't mind me asking, what specific is Katyusha is played at 3:36 when the photo of the original basis of the KV-2 is shown?
New night shift video? Today is a very good day
You, Plasmo and Model Nerd uploading on the same day? What a way to end the work week!
very nice :D
I wish I had your attention to detail, I set out with good intentions but then fall at the first hurdle. I would love to see you "make real" a Warhammer 40K tank like a Baneblade or perhaps the new Rogal Dorn tank! I'd love to see you make right the armour detail and scale.... I think you might get a kick out of it adding precision where it is sorely lacking. I'm not a Games Workshop nut, quite the opposite I would just love to see you hit these machines with a stick made of precession and reality. Love your channel.
Soviet kv 2 is the monster of the Berlin wall
If you have time, try mixing with the Brown Stuff next time. I personally much prefer it to the Green Stuff in mini conversions.
That feeling when that kit was made the same year as you were born 💀
Did Uncle Night Shift just drop a Limp Bizkit reference at 3:07 hahaha?!?!
Big ask but Could you do a video of you building a modern tank like a leopard or a challenger and show how modern tanks don’t have as much character as old cold/WW tanks have, I think a lot of people struggle to make a modern tank look interesting 🧐 because they’re all machined and all identical?
@anzaca1
4 ай бұрын
Identical? No character? Only if you don't look. When you actually look, modern tanks are easy to tell apart.
Great mofriend)))))
YYYEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
would love to see you use these proper armour techniques on a warhammer 40k tank!
Nice 😃👍
As always damn you are good…..
Huge fan of the channel! I'm very inspired by your process and looking forward to implementing it on an upcoming centurion build. I already have the white Tamiya putty, can I use it the same way you use the gray type or should I get that one? Thanks so much!
> Uncle Night Shift: "I wanted to build something simple and quick" > Also UNS: proceeds to build a model in 4 days that looks fifteen times better than the ones I put together for years now. Life's unfair ya know.
Awesome
...KV-2's ARE ONE OF THE COOLEST TANKS EVER !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)
