This is just one of the possible interpretations. As Let 3 themselves said: “this song is a universal protest against those who treat the world as their personal playground. Whether it’s Putin now, or a little rich spoiled brat recklessly driving their parents’ BMW; 10 years ago it would have been another figure other than Putin playing the role of the psychopath, and in 10 years it is unfortunately going another to be yet another character.” So no, the tractor is not an exact symbol of Lukashenko or whatever. I am seeing this “explanation” being repeated all over KZread. As with many good pieces of art, the lyrics may be interpreted however you want, and this is the beauty of it. The general message is clear - the hell with psychopaths who cause misery. “Mother”, “war”, “tractor” can all be interpeted literally or methaphorically.

@@fapmashina1 of course the song is “dedicated to” Putin, as Let 3 saId. Everybody agrees on that part :) I am just saying that while the tractor being a reference to Lukashenko gifting one is a valid interpretation, there are also other ones just as valid. Personally, I like one suggested by the music video, where the song is being sung from an average Russian’s POV, and they were living a normal agricultural life using a literal tractor bought by their mother (who moght be their literal mother, or mother Russia). However, because the mother loved a moron, they now have to go to war. This interpretation is just as right as the other ones. All I’m saying, saying “the tractor references Lukashenko” without any context closes the doors to people thinking what else it could mean, and coming up with their own interpretations. The point of the song is to get people to think.

Love the lyrics, an excellent choreography, loud music must be heard, love the elements from Glagoljica- the first ever written letter in Europe created by Croats. Tractor, to my comprehension is the invitation to go farming, because soon we'll all have deficit in food supplies due to catastrophic weather conditions. Also the line goes: "Mom kissed a moron", which represents Mother Russia. Or mom grew a moron, who became a psychopath. You were spot on with the nursery rhyme.. "Trajna -nina- Armagedon Nona". Trajna Nina is a nursery rhyme of sorts and Armageddon Nona refers to A Armageddon Granny, granny being Stalin. Old Russia and Putin is new Russia.

At first glance it looks stupid, but everything, everything has a hidden meaning: the singer's clothes symbolize a general whose clothes and conscience are stained with the blood of the victims; a singer in a black mantle-a church that supports the war, that's why he has 2 rockets in his hands. The sound and text are reminiscent of a children's song - the dictator is like a child who perceives the world as his toy and says to his mother (Russia or any other country): Mom, I'm going to war! Then the children's song ends and war chaos ensues. Because war spares no one. Neither the dictator, nor his people, nor those who defend themselves. Krokodil in Russia is the name for a type of drug that destroys the mind. That's why every dictator is a crocodile psychopath. etc...etc...

Making fun of the dictator Putin and his aggression towards Ukraine and the re-establishment of great Russia. Making fun of the Russian people because more than 70% of them still support Putin. The Song is actually part of a musical theatre play, that explains its weirdness. One either loves or hates it.

Very elaborate, bravo, however a note: psychopaths are rarely violent in social interactions. They do their acts of violence in secrecy, in a sneaky manner or instrumentalize and manipulate others. Almost all true dictators behave that way. Also "ljubila" in the context means "loved" not "kissed".

I'm so glad you decided to review this one after I left a comment in the other video about it. As I said there, vocally not the best, but it really packs a punch in other ways. I'm a bit concerned Eurovision execs might force them to tone down the cinematics we saw here from their TV show they qualified from in Croatia, it might be a bit too political for the show itself when the time comes.

The meaning of the word "ŠČ", which is repeated after each verse, is particularly mysterious.
