    You know why you are so damn popular Dan is you are just the best at relating to the average hunter. Absolutely flawless breakdown and makes us want to get out and try to implement what you are teaching. I can probably relate to most of the other hunters watching this and say thank you for everything you are doing.

    Absolutely one of the best videos ever, so informative, thank you! Only wish I had found out about you earlier when I was younger to do this. Still at 73 am going to implement everything I can for my future hunting-it just is going to be done from the ground as health(balance issues) will not allow hunting from trees.

    Just killed my first buck (7pt) of 2023 (Sept 17) on public ground in Central FL. My truck was 90 yards away from my stand. Lots of guys go miles back... I used to. Since I started hunting close to my truck my success has skyrocketed.

    One of the coolest post season videos I’ve ever watched. loved the way you breaked down moving through the cattails and showing people what to watch for to move carefully. Very informative about the time of season based off rubs aswell. All of that was just bad to the bone.. goodluck next season I’d love to watch this spot pay off first sit

I have a hard time making that last push like you did, and I feel like I force my setups a little too soon sometimes. You pushed on and found the sweet spot. That was freaking awesome Dan!!! One of the best learning videos I have seen in a while…that one really hit home!!👍🏼👊🏼😊

    You put a lot of time in the woods I hunt very similar here in NJ the pine Barren bucks I look for oaks during bow season but there's always a shifting wind and convection wind currents and never bait as I watch them circle scent checking checking with bait and have a area I only hunt once a year on opening day during 6day firearm that use multiple hunting clubs on a major escape route into a swamp that runs into a conservatory it's a all day up in stand hunt 30ft up a tree and build a tracklog of waypoints on my GPS on Deer movement patterns as pressure builds throughout the season for over 15years of storage of waypoints and minimize scent transfer on the ground following a tracklog and a cover scent and never had any luck with Deer scent as I think deer in those areas know every deers different scents they give off and anything foreign put them on suspicious behavior I see watching deer.

    Great vid Dan A few questions... would you hunt this morning or evening? Any particular time of day? How would you access your spots you picked? Via your own trail? Or down a less used deer trail? Thanks again

  • @thehuntingbeast

    @thehuntingbeast

    Жыл бұрын

    THEY COULD BE USED FOR BOTH BUT i WOULD EXPECT BEST RESULTS IN THE EVENING. If I COME STRAIGHT FROM THE PARKING LOT i WALK THRU 100 YARDS OF WATER AND CATTAILS AND UP THE TREE ON BOTH SIDES ABOUT EQUALLY. The second spot though I do have to cross one small trail

  • @thehuntingbeast

    I would be looking at both. If both hold big bucks equally I would prefer swamp or marsh early season when you have good cover and can get close and hills in rut when they travel using terrain and are slightly more predictable.

    I have a safety question for you regarding regarding walking on cattail marshes. Is it safe wearing neoprene waders when walking through cattail marshes? Here's my setup. I have a mystery ranch framed backpack , and i use a tree saddle. So I would wear my neoprene chest waders to the marsh island and put my tree saddle inside my backpack, and strap my muck boots to the outside of the backpack.

  • @thehuntingbeast

    @thehuntingbeast

    That depends... If you understand how to navigate in marsh and bog and where to step you should be fairly safe.

    With a Bow I’d hunt that scrub from the ground, if you haven’t already you need to practice shooting deer that are running. Put a target inside a tire get back 20 yards and have a buddy roll the tire down a hill. I have killed more deer like that than any other way. I do prefer a tree stand in rifle season.

    Dan the Legend, I am truly , honestly sorry to bother you , bug you… Sincere apologies , but ….. I dropped you a message about 2 , 3 weeks ago , asking about the name of the track or the artist that was used at the very last of a couple of your videos. To this day , no success…🤔😢 Today Monday ( in the UK) , I am flying to Crete on Wednesday , as I have decided to retire from catering after 35 years , last Sunday , and I will be going to work on a fishing boat. I would have loved to take this song with me , just as I have been searching on and on without joy. I shall send a copy of this message to Josh , hoping he can help…. I’ll still be a subscriber of yours , waiting to watch for your videos between the fishing chores 😂. Thank you once again for the adventures Chris from UK

    Dan I really find your teachings very interesting and take them so serious I hunt in eastern north Carolina so our terrain is very flat land. But I'm curious do u think moon phase has anything to do with movements. I've had one of the best still hunters in our area told me if I have a day time pic of a buck on my camera to hunt it 28 to 30 days later on the same moon phase and that he should come back. Can I get your opinion on this theory or how I can hunt this big buck I've been after this year I've only had pictues of him 3 times first on 11/6 2nd on 11/15 which was the only pic of legal shooting at almost dark and on 11/22 id love to get your email and possibly send u some ariel maps of my hunting location and get your input on a setup spot or see if u think im setup in a decent location i also just purchased both your books got them in the mail today! Hope to hear back from you!

  • @thehuntingbeast

    @thehuntingbeast

    Deer change patterns and bedding often. I would hunt the buck you get pics of right away... I think there is a little bit to the moon phase, but not enough to be a major influence.
