My friend called them his "discount cats" :) They are very catlike and calm, and they enjoy their backs being stroked. But I am not allergic to them, they don't scratch, and they don't need a lot of physical attention and cuddling like a cat might.

Leopard geckos are not just restricted to northern part of India. They are found in western India as well. In fact Central part of Mah is the southernmost part of their range in India. Also we have 3 species of leopard geckos- Eublepharis fuscus, Eublepharis macularius and Eublepharis hardwickii. Of these 3 we do find 1st one in wild on outskirts of my city(Pune).

It's supposed to be small. Anything bigger than a 20 gallon would stress them out. A simple 10 gallon is completely fine. That's why so many people prefer leopard geckos as first reptile pets because they're so easy to maintain.

so i litteraly just recieved a leopard gecko today from a friend that will no longer be able to take care of it as he is going out of state for a while. hes warming up to me but he hasnt eaten or drink anything since he's been here. he's supposedly 4-5 years old. is it normal for them to not eat when they are introduced into a new house?

Logan Anderson it's fairly normal for them not to eat for a few days when they are in a new place. To try and get him to eat, I suggest making sure you are feeding him the right size food. You can also mix some calcium power with a little bit of water, then put some on the tip of his nose. He will lick it off and it might encourage him to start eating again.

You are all, most completely wrong I came hear to learn about the right information about geckos first of all the do not live in deserts they are arid wich means dry and they they live in forest lands with pebbles and dirt and you absolutely DO NOT house 3 to 4 geckos in one tank the one you suggested is only soposed to only hold one gecko and when you mentioned the hide after you took it out 2 geckos were in the corner and you squished them I don’t know how this is helping😖

the drawers help the animas feel safe. snakes do not do well in large enclosures, as in the wild they will curl up in a great stump or under a bush to avoid being exposed. they don't know their are no predators where they are. just as long as they are healthy, well fed and happy, they do great in small containers.

I had a question, as I would someday like to do reptile breeding, (mainly lizards and snakes) I was wondering how you heat your shelves for them??? What tubs are you using? I have such a hard time finding the perfect tubs for them. I looked at the 28qt and 6qt sterilites, but it seems like there is not enough vertical room between the top of the 6qt and the overhead shelf to be good as a laying box.

Are Can O Crickets OK for my 2 Geckos ??? They LOVE them and eat them from my fingers or dish !!! I have fed them LIVE crickets but sometimes our local pet store gets a bad shipment and does not have any live for sale... I really do like the convenience of storing / feeding dead...

mister bubs You're gonna love it! They're great friends to have and be around. If you're getting a younger one and you want to be able to hold it and pet it you have to start early and be very delicate so it doesn't drop its tail.
