I hate it when people don't give any water in the enclosure for leopard geckos. I always see mine drink their water. Not to mention, it helps to actually provide a source of humidity, but not too much to cause any respiratory infections. And I all so switched over to 8oz deli cups for my leopard geckos too. So much easier and much more sanitary too.

I would recommend Leo geckos to anyone as first reptile. The only negative is being nocturnal, don't see them much during the day so some may get bored with em. 1 of mine, Moe, talks to her food sometimes. If she's stalking a cricket & the bug stops moving, she creeps closer & makes weird popping/clicking sounds with her mouth lol. Been trying to catch it on video.

for a baby a 20 gallon is fine. for an adult a 40 gallon is good(especially so you can have hide spots on both the hot and cool sides of the cage, water(some even like to keep a water bowl on both sides too), and whatever else you want to decorate your cage with(I have some driftwood that my snake climbs on sometimes, as well as some rocks that she can either bask on, or help her start to get her shed off(and just for decoration.)) a 40 gallon tank really isn't very big for a full sized ball python at all. hope this helps.

As a leopard gecko breeder myself theres a lot a new breeder has to take into consideration. There are LOTS of Recessive traits, Polygenic traits and dangers a person has to learn about before dealing with leopard gecko breeding. Why loose substrates are bad. which eye traits NOT to mix, why you SHOULDNT mix strains of albinos. How to work with Hets, what Het means for the gecko. The dangers of Co-habitation. What Engima Syndrome is and how to spot if a leo has it or not, How to gut load your crickets. the dangers of stick tail, stuck sheds, prolapse of the hemipenes. People have to know their stuff before they start breeding. AND HONESTLY if youre doing this for just the money and just to become a "Millionaire" (and havent done your research) ..well you're just contributing to the Mass amounts of Unknown Het Leos. its videos like this that motivate people for the wrong reasons. Seeing this most people think they can go out buy whatever gecko and throw it in a 10 gallon and immediately expect no danger, just eggs that equal money. Lots of people dont know what they're doing and its just polluting the leopard gecko gene pool.

@@averyd.6132 I'm not meaning absorbing it lol......what most geckos do is they get used to the days you spray them. I'm not saying it's bad to have a water dish but it does not hurt them if you do it this way. They still will stay nice and hydrated lol

Since you keep 4 females to a tub, are all similar genetically, if not how do you know which gecko laid which eggs?

skylar LPS tv they are both amazing pet lizards, a lot of people like bearded dragons and a lot of people prefer blue tongues. I’d say you should watch some videos of both of them or even observe them irl and see which characteristics best suit you.

HECTOR NEGRON Please do not keep your gecko in the conditions Brian describes. As a pet you should provide more than this and do research! :)
