My Greek wife and I visited Athens...2017 ..His singing was awesome. Ageion Airlines had such cheap flights! We walked up these steps.. together. NEVER TO FORGET! then we returned to the Hydra Harbour. Then we slept at the steps before getting on the ship.

Thank you for this beautiful video...Leonard arriving on hydra....and settling in with his Australian hosts.I have read Peel Me a Lotus, an amazing diary of the months just before leonard arrived. Hydra is not the same place today, but still evokes wonderful images of his poetry...!

I often watch different videos of Leonard Cohen in Greece; this is the first time I have come across this one. I looked up his Australian hosts and became fascinated; today I ordered Peel me a Lotus from Barnes and Noble. .btw, the Lotus flower has always been my, one might say, my spirit flower. I have if as my cell phone.

if he hadn't written the song Marianne the girl and he would have forgotten youthful love like everyone else. In fact, they both had other stories. but since Cohen has made the girl immortal she passes for the love of all life. As for the letter written by both of them, it could be a coup de theater. is the wonderful song that is forever.

He liked the simple carefree life, and at his house up on the hill, a quiet place to work - he learnt Greek and began carrying the 'komboloi' (Greek worry beads) like many the local men.
