He’s a genius

It’s been over three months since we broke up. And this song reminds me of why it was never going to work. She grew distant physically and it was never going to get better with time. The thrill was gone for her. But she would say she loved me, but only kissed me when she was leaving. Never when she came home. Women never understand this shit and how it hurts a man. Glad we got artists like Leon putting the words out there.

Why am I listening on repeat when the lyrics are hurting my soul?

Right? He is so unique...there's elements from his sound that might remind you about someone, but he's perspective and voice are so unique.

This two part concept is so beautiful. I love it. I don't know if I've heard a man sing about this struggle in relationships this way. So haunting but in a good way. Quick story: An acquaintance of mine was sitting with all his middle-aged male friends. They were all catching up after awhile of not seeing each other. All (about 2 or 3 ) were married for over a decade and admitted to having extra-marital relations. However, at the time of the discussion -apparently - all of them were not and admitted that they actually would prefer just having more sexual intimacy with their wives. Their wives - from their perspective - had allowed their work and personal lives to take away from their commitment to intimacy in their marriage. Their extra-marital affairs was their way of taking care of their needs. I had to share as this concept reminded so much of that conversation.

We aren't all cold hearted peices of shit. Most of us are faithful to our wives/girlfriends and desire our wives. I herd this song ONCE on pandora and it hit me like a Tyson punch to the gut. Can't stop listening to it. I am a middle aged father of two beautiful boys and faithful husband but to be brutally honest I, and speak for a lot of men, if we aren't having sex then we are feeling undesired. It is truly painful and it's hard to deal with because we are stereotyped as being pigs and that's all we want. We have to feel needed and desired.

This song is a monster! Rarely do I feel an instant connection with lyrics,; I usually key in on the music first. But here the music and lyrics combine to reach in and just pulverize your heart into pieces. When the melody of the chorus starts with that 2 1/2 beats of falsetto a capella, it’s just so sad and beautiful all at once. A lovely bit of production! Bravo Leon! You expressed something we’ve all felt and made it universal.

You're not alone!

Would have been dope of part II was Leon having a relationship with the girl and he was singing from his perspective and at the end is the bar scene where she walks up to the new guy and their relationship starts. But instead part II was just alternate scenes or angles haha

I love this song 🎵 too much. Hella feelings of doubt, lamentation, and disbelief. But somehow it feels good to listen to this song over and over again.
