its a great lens if you want 1 lens for everything i have owned one for 1 year no problems at all great pictures

Is auto focus of this lens fast enough to use with canon 7d mark ii camera??

Is the lens supposed to fall out of it's original position when pointing the camera down or did I get a defective lens?

There's a little switch to block it on the bottom of the lens :)

No. You did not. The glass is that heavey so it falls down. Indeed use the lock. Its manageable (I use one quite intensively).
