Lenovo M91p - Full Disassembly and upgrade with Radeon HD 7700

Ғылым және технология

In this video, I will take a look at a Lenovo ThinkCentre M91p. During the video, I will completely disassemble and re-assemble the device. And upgrade the RAM, SSD and add an AMD Radeon HD7770 as video card. Once everything is back together, I'll do some benchmarking and see how gaming goes on this machine, by playing Need for Speed Most Wanted, Far Cry 4 and GTA V.

    I picked up this pc i5 2400, 8gb ram for ~35$, I plugged in a SSD and a GTX 1650 (that I got for ~85$) and still use the original 280watt psu. What an amazing budget gamer :-) (it does need two key configurations to work correctly: bios setting video>igp>multi monitor enabled, windows fast boot disabled)

  • @jensdbe

    Normally with 3x4GB it should not be working in dual channel. The best way to test this is to run Geekbench with each memory configuration which you are considering and compare them.

    Max. supported CPU is an i7 2600. The performance difference between it and the i5 2500 in it now is rather small. €37 is not a lot but it is in a PC worth ~€150 for a small improvement. Would be interesting to see how big the difference is though :)

    How is it that your m91p Type 4524-E4G accepts the Radeon HD7700, because it is not in the very restricted list of GPUs accepted by this Motherboard? Notice I own the m91p Type 4524. However and normally, the m91p only accepts the following cards (and their equivalent substitutes): *NVDIA GeForce 310 512mb DDR3 *Radeon HD5450 512mb DDR3 *Radeon HD6450 512mb DDR3 I had a Radeon HD5450 512mb DDR3, which unfortunately died last summer. I made the mistake of buying its upgraded version, the "Radeon HD5450 2gb DDR3", but the Motherboard categorically refuses to recognize it, even after upgrading the BIOS and even tinkering with it. The HD5450 2gb works on my other PCs and even on a PC older than my Lenovo. The PSU of the Lenovo is 280W, however I tested the GPU and the 280W-PSU on an another Motherboard and their is no problems at all. Do you know what to do to make it work?

  • @jensdbe

    @jensdbe

    Жыл бұрын

    Hmm, as far as I know there are no restrictions at all to which GPU to use (except for the limit of the power supply). Any PCIe videocard should just work fine. I played around with the M91p with different cards and never really got what you describe.
