Lenovo IdeaPad 3 17 - The Big, the bad, and the ugly...

Our review model specs:
512GB NVMe (upgradable)
20GB DDR4 RAM (maxed)
10th gen - i7 CPU
Intel IRIS Plus
17.3" IPS LCD FHD Non-Touch Display
17 inch laptops are not that popular these days so finding a good one has become somewhat of a challenge. The IdeaPad 3 lineup is supposed to be Lenovo's entry level laptop series, and this one is maxed out as far as specs are concerned. But can a souped up RAM and CPU really save this machine from a lack of other features and design flaws? Let's find out...

same to you chris have a good christmas...i bought this same laptop in curries for 419 euros 2 weeks ago and find it same as what you say
Best wishes for 2022 to you also! The new camera delivers a more crisp and sharper video then the previous one. I don't know if it was the previous camera or you changing the lighting, but this video doesn't look look so overly white lit. In other words, this camera was a good investment.

Great video and content quality! Keep the hard and good work! Came here because im considering buying a version of this laptop, cheaper, with usb c, and willing to do some sacrifices (light in the keyboard, speakers..) good luck with the channel!

Good info thanks
the trackpad is the same exact piece used in the 14,15,17 inch versions, to save on production cost, so it's for the 15, looks huge and awesome on the 14, and looks small on 17
I'm looking at this computer right now and It cost 700 USD with 1TB SSD and 20 GB of RAM. I think it's a good deal for what it is.
i wish this video cam out before i bought this computer over 2 years ago

15" laptops tend to hold battery better than 17" laptops due to the LCD screen. Glad you like your 15!
Just came here for idea pads but your quality is really good for your channel size (guessing you don’t use this laptop lol) but keep up the great work!

what do you think about Laptop LENOVO IdeaPad 3 17ALC6, AMD Ryzen 5 5500U pana la 4.0GHz, 17.3" Full HD, 8GB, SSD 512GB, AMD Radeon Graphics? Is it better?

I dont like many IdeaPad 3s. Lenovo goes real cheap on the 3s.

As far as budget/performance 5500u is top tier. Can get some solid pickups in the $300 range (specially if you go used). I just got this one for $380 used on ebay with 12gigs on ram 250 ssd.
Yes completely flat is good?
It's "transportable" and might be useful for a friend of mine that teaches abroad English as a second language.
Since your review USB C was added for the European version.

Love it.
How does hinge hold up for ideapad 3 as for HP is seems to break after a while?

This new model should be ok. Previous generations broke as well.
This laptop lost me at no backlight keyboard. Wish Dell made a 17 inch with a 10 key.

Yeah it's a shame this thing is so "bare bones". If it wasn't so expensive I'd be less disappointed. Dell's Inspiron 2-1 17 has a numpad if you don't mind getting into the 800+ price range.

Could you please review the Asus Vivobook 17.3?
@ComputerStuff
Жыл бұрын
We'll try to get ahold of one. We did a older version of the Vivobook 17.3 maybe 8 months ago or so. That should give you a general idea!
It's a way better value nowadays. I bought mine for the equivalent of $540. It is somewhat bottlenecked by the 8gb of RAM (Which is upgradable anyways), has a 12th gen i3 that is almost on par with the 10th gen i7s (A very fast dual core with another 4 eco cores attached), so battery life should be better, and the build quality fits more into that price tier. The screen is quite nice for the price range. I remember few years ago when non full-hd, TN was still the norm. This is an IPS with 93%ish RGB coverage and good contrast.

Ideapad 3i 17 vs HP 17 - it seems ideapad has slightly better battery and significantly better build quality and HP has significantly better screen. Is that fair assessment?

That's what I have. Honestly a really nice laptop, except for the lack of backlit keyboard and the dullness of the screen. The colors are just not good enough I guess
