This song belongs to a very special part of my childhood. I was 11 when it came out, and I LOVED IT, SO much, for how much of an easy listen it is. I have several very specific associations with this song that wouldn't make sense unless you really knew me. . I'm glad I finally looked this up. I never knew the artist OR the song name until now. One of my favorite songs of all time too

This song came out almost DAYS after my high School sweetheart broke up with mefor the first time. I wondered if I'd ever see him again. This song completely BROKE me. My heart was torn to bits and I really thought that id never see him or touch him again. I now have a 20 something year old son by him that brings me more joy than I could ever imagine. Much more joy laughter amd happiness than his dad ever did. Yes I did see hom again. I can now listen to this song remembering my pain and know its ok. First loves are hard. Sigh. But y'all be ok.

It's been almost 23 years since I first heard this song and now I know I'll NEVER see you again all the people I met at citrus college Glendora California

Remember being in 10th grade, me and this girl had a class together, didn't sit next to each other, never said a word to each other. One day, class would end and we would end up walking next to each other to our next class, we had different classes, but her class was on the way to mine. After about a week, we started to hold hands with each other, never made eye contact, never said a word, never even gave it a thought. It felt like words would ruin the moment. It felt like such a private thing, I never even talked to my friends about it, or even have it consume my thoughts afterwards or leading up to this. After 3 weeks, I stopped doing it, don't know why, it just seemed odd. I didn't know if I was being set up to look like a fool, or what was going on. When you're 14, 15 years old, you don't know what to make of anything. It took me 30 years to even reflect on this time of my life, heard this song, and I thought of her. Was she just experimenting?? Did she really like me, and like me, was just too shy to act on it? Was it someone who put her up to it trying to crush my spirit in the end?? Or was it someone who was in a bad home situation, and she was just trying to forget for 2 minutes?? Whenever I hear this song, I think of Nicole, and I hope she is well.
