Even if bum Morrison was in his prime, he would have lost. Tommy was never good to begin with, lmao. He was always a great white hype, praised by white media, and pushing him as the "white Mike Tyson". Bum Morrison fought bums for most of his career, until he encountered ray mercer, & Lennox Lewis. No matter if bum Morrison were in his prime or not, Lennox would have bullied him. Keep in mind, this was before Lennox Lewis learned to use his size to his advantage😂😂😂.

Lewis vs. Bowe= Lewis beat Bowe at the Olympics. Imagine the same thing happening again; Lewis is just a bit better. Tyson vs. Foreman = slugfest This would be the most fun fight ever to watch. Tyson would be favored, but it would not be easy. Lewis vs. Foreman = easy fight for Lewis; keep distance; throw massive bombs on Foreman's face; foreman would actually get destroy here i think, he was too slow to catch Lewis, and Lewis hit really hard. Holyfield vs. Morrisson = Good fight. I still think Holy would win, start with a big slugfest but morrison just don't have the stamina and chin holyfield had. Tyson vs. Bowe: They are actually close friends in real life. Tyson said this so they would never fight. Tyson would win, but big bowe would not be easy to take down, no surprise if end by points.

Lewis knew how to beat shorter big punchers with ease.He used the same technique with Morrison,Tyson,and Tua.He pivoted off the right foot and jabbed them all night.He never let them get set up to attack.He kept changing directions confusing and frustrating them.With Morrison he countered and smothered him.Tommy psychologically knew he was f'ed after rd 1.,but didn’t give up trying,just like Tua.Lewis was a beast until he met Klitschko.

@@anthonyraymond2211 They were both intelligent boxers so who knows. Ali only beat Foremen by being smart and Lewis got his revenge on those he lost to, so I am not so sure, also the level of coaching has improved, so quite a few factors.

Tommy was shot and sick in my opinion by this fight

In this vdo Morisson has started to look sick..the virus appears to have begun to show it's effect on the great boxer.

Tommy should have done much better, he needed to be more aggressive to rattle Lennox & minimize that jab. He boxed with an incorrect strategy all night. He's a much superior boxer then his output in this specific match and well Lennox is Lennox.

Sonny Liston vs Lennox Lewis. The battle of big reaches. Would have been interesting if they were in the same era.

I remember in an interview after the fight Morrison said he wasn’t impressed with Lewis power. Unfortunately for Tommy, Lewis only needed his jab to win. He was completely outboxed.

Lennox Lewis would have beaten up any of these so-called great heavyweights of this era on his prime. Lennox was a beast and didn't ducked anyone. A true champion.

If you're going to beat Lewis, you damn sure don't play chess with him. You don't wait around on the outside & let Lewis control the fight with his jab. He'll set you up for that nasty right hand. You have to change it up. When you're on the inside, you gotta throw FAST. Get under Lewis's skin. Make him trade with you. And, you gotta be NASTY. Lewis uses borderline illegal tactics: pushing & leaning behind the head, grabbing, holding & hitting. You have to counter that. Nobody wins a decision against Lewis. The way to beat him is to hurt him, mug him. His weakness is his chin.

@presence5426 I don't feel Tommy was ever a really skilled in fighter. Certainly has his moments on the inside do to that sledgehammer of a left hook. But never showed the consistent head movement needed to slip punches

I have great respect for Lewis as a fighter, he's one of the few that had sense enough to get out at the top and before he got his brains scrambled!

This was October 1995. Morrison tested positive for HIV in February 1996. That means he already had diseased blood in this fight. Lennox was lucky Morrison didn't bleed on him.

I hear this all the time Tyson was 20 years past his prime fighting Lewis .. they were both the same age .. when Tyson lost against Douglas at 23 they were saying Tyson was at the end of his career .. fact is Tyson lost against people that out boxed him .. he never lost by a lucky punch .. it was round after round out boxed

Well that left jab by Lennox Lewis was irritating that left eye of Tommy Morrison enough and then he was going to throw the right hand.

Can't fight what you can't see. A good stoppage really. He didn't even move or flinch after that last right. I bet he just didn't see it. He was starting to loose his edge from AIDs at this point. Lewis's fine jab was another problem.

Of course Lewis was better but in certain ways, I was surprised about Morrison. First of all, how did this guy make it to the ring? He had issues, a serious narcotic and alcohol addiction problems, We're talking about the hard stuff. He was also probably HIV positive at the time that he fought Lennox Lewis but he officially tested positive 4 months later. He had also used PED's throughout his career which was the only reason that he was able to get in shape. With his lifestyle I do not think that he would be able to get ready if he were PED free. By the way, I am not knocking people who are HIV positive because with today's medicine that can lower a person's viral load to undetectable, it would be positive for a HIV positive person to box even though the boxing federations would probably not allow it.

Look up the guy who invented the test kit kary mullis and you will learn a hell of a lot more than just this , esp about a pcr.

Let's keep this CORE REAL. Morrison was never going to be nothing more than a good B level fighter in spite of his left hook. He has THREE Things going against him. A very poor chin, lack of proper stamina and a very substandard defense. In the heavyweight division lacking either of these is a serious liability. Lacking all 3 is a recipe for eventual disaster and glorified club fighter status. He was NEVER going to beat Tyson, Lewis, Bowe, Tua, Holyfield or ANY of the top rung upper echelon heavyweights of that era for those very reasons. He struggled to beat an old Foreman, whom in reality he SHOULD have been able to KO, given Morrisons size, youth and power. But Morrison who suffered stamina issues, barely got across the finish line gasping for breath against a 40 plus Foreman. Once he was waxed by Mercer he was DONE as a SERIOUS threat and that was cemented in his stunning loss to the journeyman and unheralded Michael Bent who took Morrison out in less than 2 rounds. Lennox Lewis toyed with him and finished off what was left. Tommy was fine beating a slew of has beens and C Level fodder but the truth ALWAYS comes out when a fighter has to step up and face the big guns. Then he either gets exposed or he passes the test and keeps going up to the top to attain the prize. No amount of what ifs, maybes etc.....changes the REALITY that Morrison lacked the 3 most important qualities I mentioned earlier. If anyone takes exception to what I'm saying all I can say is : COPE.
