Lena Horne - LENA TALKS 1998
Ойын-сауық
This may be Lena's LAST TV interview in 1998. She talks about how she reacted with the audience of her B'way show The Lady & Her Music. She talks about the year 2000 - the Millennium. She talks about her great grandson. She answers some silly questions with humor. Lena lived in NYC on 9/11.

I always wished I could have met her just one time. I would have been overwhelmed by her presence
I wish people could hear Lena's advice now about being nasty. Lord knows they need to hear it.
Lena always said she liked a laugh -- in this interview she showed her sense of humor and got plenty of laughs from the audience!
I will always love her..I truly miss looking for a new recording. Was lucky enough to have met her about four times, she treated me with respect.
I always thought Ms. Horne sounded like a Southern lady not the NYC lady she actually was❤❤❤❤So classy so beautiful and so charismatic! Look at that beautiful hair.
Beautiful and classy...that is Lena Horne
Lena’s gorgeous. Not sure how old she is but her skin is seamless
Lena was a beautiful person inside and out.. saw her one woman show 3 times...incredible!!
i wonder what made her retreat after this interview. i love, adore, and miss her so much. words can't express how much she meant to me. my eyes are welling up with tears as I type.

Corey Aguayo I had the same reaction. I found myself getting emotional. I empathise with what Lena said. I am 38 this year and even I see such a change in society and young people that it frightens me. So many changes and we certainly are not raising, or at least known ones, like Lena Horne. So beautiful even at her age in this video.

Corey Aguayo She started to get a little sickly and that made her stay in more. Plus by this interview she was late 70’s too. I guess she was just tired.

Love her as Glinda the Good Witch in THE WIZ!
Legendary!
True class, we sure need more people like her now.
she was smart and beautyful-she was and is one of my all time favorites!
We're all unique from one another. Horne just happened to be MORE unique. There was no other like her. She was a major influence in my life and made a most unhappy childhood bright in so many ways. Horne was made of the best of steel, and she accepted all her challenges in such a way -- to purloin from Shakespeare -- that she made death proud to accept her.
She's EXCELLENT 🥰👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾🥰❤️🖤💚✊🏾❤️🖤💚at any age and stage of life 😉
She's So Cute!!!Love Her❤✨✨
Just beautiful !
So wise and beautiful.
They just don't make them as classy as that anymore, there is hardly an ounce of class in today's performers except maybe in the older generation like Marcia Hines who just turned 60 recently and is a great African/American/Australian singer. One day before you know class will be a concept alien to everyone. Personally I know that there will never be another like Lena Horne and all those other brilliant talents of her time like Dinah Washington, Count Basie etc.
I need more. Love you Lena!
I love her sooooo much
Lena shined in this interview, the interview did not quite fit, but Lena wisely focused her responses to the audience
Thank you for this interview with Horne. I would like to see this same interviewer do the same with pioneer Herb Jeffries while we still have him. He's in the upper reaches of 90. At one point in his long career, he was dubbed the Bronze Buckeroo for his western movies. Although his star didn't shine as bright as Horne's he was nonetheless a commanding figure in entertainment. He's most famous for "Flamingo."
I was wondering myself who was that interviewing her. Ye it is sherry from bet.yes .mr. Had to be in her 80 's and is simply. Beautiful.at that age is so flaw
You can learn from honesty. You can’t learn from the pretense of today.
Is that Sherry from BET back in the day??
