OMG the woman is PURE BEAUTY PERSONIFIED. Ava Garner was once asked who did she think the most beautiful woman in Hollywood was and Ava answered it was Lena Horne without a doubt. Lena looks so beautiful here in this interview. Her face is absolute PERFECTION.

Miss Horne always acknowledged her family's heritage, which is predominately african with native american, european and others. A excellent place to start if you wish to learn more is "Lena" and "The Hornes - An American Family".

i am 24 and have been obsessed with ppl like Lena Horne and Josephine Baker and Dorothy Dandridge since i was younger. I think these type of women were and are pioneers for not just black ppl but for women in a time when it wasnt just about looks u actually had to showcase some talent. I also like Lena cus she reminds me of my late Grandmother.

I like how Billie Holiday and Dinah Washington helped another black woman out. It seems back in those days, black women were more helpful to each other. I think that is rare today to find black women who will be helpful to one another. Most today would be like don't sing my song.
